Cottesloe, WA, AU

Was itching to try the 7.1 KAR in lightish winds, got the chance today only Lindsy and John at Dutchies so a very quick test but wow love the setup with the 98l Manta this could become a favourite, no great speeds but wind was only 13-15 with a few teaser 18kn bullets, can't wait to test the sail in a proper 18-20kn where I normally would be on my trusty 6.3. The sail / board combo was feeling super light in feel and didn't take much to get it up on plane, got to plug the 116 Manta with this sail and see what it feels like as well.

Melville Beach, WA, AU M91 then iS111, 5.7K, 24 FF

Shifty, gusty, 8 - 20 kn, gutless WSW sucked me into using the 91 but it was flat and kind of fun after I changed to the 111 to get through the lulls more easily. Still a good workout, hence only 11 km.

More gybe practice today - so many fine points to remember when gybing - I find I remember some things one day and forget to do them the next, but I remember others.  One day it all has to come together, I hope. That alpha was a nice planing one I did on starboard tack - generally my worst side - unfortunately I gybed into a lull and there was not much speed after the exit.

I'm curious, what fin were you on with the 98 Boz? A lockwood?

Snake, 29 Lockwood speed weed, mast track set slightly back from centre, one day would be good to rig the 7s at the same time with the two different boards and see what the feel is like. Also I set my boom probably lower than most and run 32 lines, I know it should be set higher and I only adjust if the board feels sticky.

Gllad you got a sail Anita .Planing gybes are always nice but it's frustrating not to have the wind for the exit. Happens all the time to me..Undecided Nice speed for the big kit with a small sail..

Ah, good to know Boz. Can't say I've run the 29 a whole lot on the XFire98 with the 7.1 - I normally just bung on the 31. Might have to give it a go one of these days.
