1930 days ago 2 categories   Lyttelton Harbour, NZ ..My speeds sailing in the silver slalom, ..they are from my second GPS, which doesn't measure doppler shift, does however use the GLONASS satelite chain in addition to the GPS system - so twice as many satelites as GPS alone.
..Had my GPS watch simply set to time the 3 minute start sequence - Not that it did me any good, as I repeatedly had trouble getting to the start lines on time, ..my choice of boards and fins certainly didn't help. ..Falcon 90, Overdrive 6.2, Select 35/34. Followed by Exocet RS1(80 litres), Overdrive 6.2 and T-LAB 38cm fin. ..The 80 litre board proving by far the most fun to sail, I would really like to have made a half decent start with it, although because of my age and easily given to weariness, it was major hard work every time I fell in.
