Patchy 5 - 17kts SW then gradually dying to 5-12kts SSW Valentine, NSW, AU

Sailed 12 - 2.30 with a short breakand rig change.

 7.2m Moto - WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms Tectonics weedy (best speeds)

7.2m - 125ltre tabou - 38cms tectonics

 then 7.5m Turbo - 125ltre Tabou - 38cms tectonics

After getting skunked yesterday I had really low expectations. I came around the corner and saw whitecaps and got all excited! I wanted to get out before it disappeared.

The 1st 40 mins were the best. I was nicely powered in the gusts. I wanted to work upwind  but it was too patchy so I avoided bearaways to try and stay upwind.

I only lasted 40 mins and needed a rest.

It had died a bit so I put the big board on which was nice in the gusts but it was too patchy.

7.5m on the big one was nice when I could catch a gust and get going. I'm starting to really like the big Tabou when it's pretty flat and 8-12kts.

I've set it up for lightwinds so I won't be sailing it really powered up. It's overfinned and the straps are still set up inboard from when my friend had it.

The nicest sail I've had for a while .

It was nice not to be the slowest out there for once.

Good to see Jeff , Muzza , Hugh and Glenn??  on windfoils , plus the usual wings.

There was actually another fin! Steve on his Windtech cruise Missile but he only had a 6.5m so he had no hope of getting going..

 That was nice..Cool

Burrum Heads, QLD, AU. SLW 165, Ezzy Lion 6.5, 47cm Sonntag.
SLW felt great for quite awhile then as most others started heading out i switched to Patrik F-race 120 40cm Patrik fin as moguls appeared from tide runout.

Thought i might have been in PB land out there on the F-race but didn’t even go 1kt faster than i did on SLW earlier.

F-race felt great getting in a bit closer to the bank. Lucky i was on the smaller board when the first squall came, it was mean. I was almost scared standing on the bank looking at it. Couldn’t really hold it or see in that but got a good sail in lighter wind afterwards.

That was day 7 at Burrum for me, sail number 6.
WindFest finished yesterday. Got a new water hat and awesome little plaque for my efforts in div 3 rookies fin. Good times.

Nice sail at Burrum today , weather wasn't very nice but the wind was. 10-15ish knots and a bit more in the squall that came through just as I got to the outer bank. A few others out as well. Exocet RS4 , 7m switchblade , 39 Vmax. Think I forgot how much I enjoy this slapper combo in the pitter/patter of the Burrum bank.Smile
