Finally got my chance to try the CA SP47, so decided on a quick last minute blast at Melville. Had to bail on the ocean session with Marcel, sorry mate.

The board felt great, and owned the Swan River chop. Great match with the CL SL26cm fin. Really keen to try it on the 6.4 sail and see how it goes, but I suspect this will be a great option for 18 knots plus. Definately felt similar to the SP50, but was a bit easier to handle in the chop. Didn't get much chance to wind it up to top speed due to holes in the wind, weed and chop. Can't wait to see what it can do speed wise.

Peli Pt Racing.  Lemony Snickets, Ezzy Infinity 7.0, JP Weedy 31.

My iSonic is repaired, but couldn't pick it up in time so used Lemony again.  Was well off the pace, but I can't really fault the board for that... you can't slay waves at the Abrolhos on Sunday and expect to win races the next Wednesday on the one board!

Great fun racing, unfortunately I had another collision, I hit Tom on a gybe, luckily no damage this time.  It was one of those moments where neither of us saw the other approaching until we hit.

I think I've found the top end of the Ezzy, it's about 25 knots.  This sail has an amazing range, even when overpowered it doesn't misbehave.  With an adjustable outhaul you really have a huge windrange.  What a great designer Mr. Ezzy is Cool

Results were 19, 19, 21, 19, 15 (I think).  Can't wait to get my iSo back so that I'm not so far off the pace!

Couldnt stand looking at a windless river at 2:00 so went to my normal Mettams to Sorrento playground. Plenty of wind there !!! 4.2m ezzy wave, 79l kombat

Lots of fun, a bit extreme at times when the swell and sea pushed the fin out from under you, some strange sliding moments.

Couple of overpowered hours at pelican point before I had to scramble away to dinner engagements. Very gusty but well lit on the 6.3 Laughing

Good session at Woodies with a bit more wind than the day before. At the end of the day the kiters went home and I had the strip to myself. Did a run behind the pontoon following Ado's post and felt the 24 weedy crunching shells! Luckily no off!

I could have sworn that I got a PB alpha but no joy! Just not carrying enough speed in so maybe I need to rethink and get a bigger fin to get more drive cross wind.

Chris is the SP47 a loaner or is it yours to keep?

I've got the SP47 and it's a great board.  At your weight you could consider going even smaller...given any thought to a SP44?
