CR 7.0; RRD X-F 102: Choco 36 @ Melville.beach.wa.au

Gusty...on and off and VERY rough due to 6 million boats going to fireworks...but good fun with only one big crash...but no breakages...

Many of the team out...

Futura 111, Lightning 6.4, Canefire 38 - Knew I should of done one more run, would of liked to crack 50.... Next time!Cool Really liking the 2011 Lightning, very nice to sail and never felt over powered, maybe could of used the 7 m. The canefire also goes a treat, nice to know you have a fast rock solid fin on!Smile Great days sailing, nice wind, sunshine, good company and really clear water for a change (no sharkies spotted!)

Exocet Cross 104L with 7.0M T-bird & 38cm Vector, 36 Choco

Changed to the Naish Titan 109L for a while & then later had a go on the Cross 94L with 6.5 T4 & Choco 34

Hard to get any speed today, rough as buggery out the back because of the 5,999,631 stink boats, not guessing, I actually counted themSurprised

Pleasant day in the sunLaughing

Happy Straya DaySmile

6.5T4. 109lt Naish Titan then 94Lt Exocet CrossSmile

Great days sailing spoiled by crap GPS data - more spikes than a Crown of ThornsYell

Nelson spent ages trying to sort it out & even KA72 couldn't deal with it (would love to claim the 33kn from KA72) except I sort of know it's not right.Frown

Usually  I only get spikes when I take the GPS under water - which I did very little of todayCry

Anyway - as they say Sh!t happens - get over it & move on - So I haveSurprised

Nice PB Scottie - pink rulesWink

Point Walter, WA, AU

down winder from Blackwall reach  to South of Perth Yacht Club

Note to self don't do it on the day When every stink boat is on the river Surprisedafter some air time and plenty of steering around hills and valleys with no stacks so I will call it good Tongue out

CR6.7, XFire102, Canefire34. Meville, Choppy today, but I had a good sail. Smile Happy with my Nautical Mile - Had a good run over the sandbar and thought I'd give it a go. Then I met the wake of the estimated 5-6million boats.........

Borgy forgot his shorts againSurprised

Nice distance PB Scotty!

Darth I'm not sure if I'm reading the doppler speeds OK, but it looks about right. What are the 3 doppler speeds? I read 30.674, 30.81 & 30.421, which given 30.674 is for 1/2 a second, 30.81 is for a entire second and 30.421 is another half second, you get an average of 30.679.

Scotty says...I read 30.674, 30.81 & 30.421, which given 30.674 is for 1/2 a second, 30.81 is for a entire second and 30.421 is another half second, you get an average of 30.679....

Scotty, so on that basis, the 30.674 and 30.421 are averaged, then that average is averaged with the 30.810 to give a final result of 30.679...there must be some solid statistical analysis behind the method I guess???Undecided

Nauli, my understanding (and I could be wrong) is that the 3 readings are instantaneous speeds (ie @ 0 seconds, 1 second, 2 seconds). So these three are needed to give an average over a 2 second interval.

BTW, if we swapped alphas I would have had a PB! As Maxwell Smart would say "I was that close".
