Nice to have a decent wind session, if a southerly can be classed as decent at Portland

Windy and Sunny in July, perfect, and what was better we were able to sail at the bluff. Whilst this  beach may be the inspiration for many artists and their paintings, they are certainly missing a trick since sailing here is like being in one of those perfect pieces of art. Crystal clear water, lovely scenery and a nice steady summer offshore breeze.

Delighted Simon was able to make it and he gambled on his W58 which paid off. He's always been quicker than me off the wind and following him on one run he picked up a lead off about 100m. He also got a couple of nice runs at the end whilst I had a couple of sneaky ones at the start.

Best run was well offshore, bearing off through the river and approx 800m out to sea, I caught a good gust and just kept going smoothly and powered over the chop, the  board handled it beautifully and rocks despite now being 7 years old.

Having cycled nearly a thousand miles since my last windsurf it all felt a bit weird, and my harness is now too big.
