Well it started out very frustrating with changing gear a few times only to have the wind change again. Then the wind got it's act together and just kicked in and blew solid constant pressure it was awesome. I'm not sure of the strength of the wind but over 25 knots cetainly. I did something different with my 7 metre today. despite the fact that I run it downhauled block to block with the mast base at recommended setting it has always felt to tight in the leech to me. Today I went up a notch on the mast base and gave it an extra half inch of downhaul. Waaay better. lower centre of effort, better gust response and just plain quicker.
The falcon 90 took everything I threw at it today what a beast of a board. I was already rooted by the time the good breeze turned up but I wanted to have a big one so we can try and win it this month so I dug a bit deeper and went for a few big ones. SO powered up OMG lol. But it was nice constant wind and not bumping me out of my trim like last time. I was barely holding the 7 metre at times at even got backslammed while simply standing up having a break lol but Once I struggled onto the board I just pulled away until it felt good lol. At the end I had to chuck it in as I was so tired my concentration was wandering so I called it before I had a stack.
Tibor was killing it as usual what to privilige to share the water with an icon of the sport. I'm effing delighted with 38 I never thought I'd crack 38 in a million years. My goal this year was break 35 I certainly belted that lol. I have had a tough week with my diabetes really giving me curry I forced myself to go sailing today even though I felt weak and listless what can I say it's only pain I love this sport I'll push it until I croak woo hoo!! lol
