Koncept 6.2, Sonic 85L + Pepe Tribal

Looked fairly windy early so I left the big gear at home, rigged & then wind dropped away Yell

Went out anyway, bit on the plane bit off the plane but plenty of water at least, wind also had a fair bit of North. Water was starting to drop so atarted to find a few flat spots & the wind although still patchy looked to be coming back in. Worked my way up to have a crack at a NM & basically as I was just getting to launch, whack something decided to stab me in the foot just beacause I accidently trod on it, instantaneous pain!!!

Of course my car was right at other end of the beach Yell Yell Sail back hurty hurty ouchy ouchy, followed by a very painful de-rig & then the 20 minute drive home. Was just about to go and plunge my foot into hot water when I looked at the wound & there seemed to be a lot of deep blue under the skin surrounding the wound. Ah farkit off to hospital I toddle, turns out it was just a fair bit of blood & the hot water did the trick. Didn't get offerred a Chuppa-chup unlike the kid in the next cubicle Cry Ageism is alive & well...

Posted from the watch as I forgot to turn the GW52 off

Oh yeah as I was de-rigging the wind decide to come back in with a vengence Yell

Feels like I've had a Muppet of a day!!

South Yunderup, WA, AU     Pat F Race 120, KAR 7.1, 24 Fangy fin

Great  sail with the captain today, more later need more food.

Mike and I had a plan to improve our team score for the month and met up at Yunderup. Realy it was totaly selfish and we just wanted some jelly beans.

When I got there Mike was rigged and ready to roll.  Decided to go with the go to kit and the solid fangy fin 24. Big k,s and a good hour were on the menue but with the cheer squad incapacitated and in tassi and not a doughnut in sight this was going to be a hard task. Headed off to cath up with Mike at the other end of the earth, hit a few solid submerged bergs which had me almost over the front then came to a fairly choppy bit and then closer to boombas nice flatish water with a smattering of floating bergs. Best speeds and alpha were done in the first session and best hour was done in the second session. I was first to crack under the pressure and had to stop for a rest but with only another 20km to go to secure second spot in the distance cat I just kept going with regular rest stops. Mike must have had an extra slice of Dot's fruit cake cos he just kept going and going. In the end I had to go in while I still had the strength to get back to Yunderup.

All the above results are totaly attributable to fangy as his fin was used for the whole day, and as Coodanup was in sight should probably be elligible for the Fangy five

Rigged the 6.2, and 53 with filleted 21cm @55d.

Wind W to WNW so launched from South Yunderup and sailed into Boombas.

At first the wind was a light westerly, and it was a good run all the way from Yunderup to Boombas, only afew weed bergs to navigate, fortunately 90% of them clearly visible, (gulls and pelican standing on them helped). After a while wind picked up and I was glad I hadn't gone with the 6.6 on the 65. The water just past the 5knt markers started to get a bit rough so we stayed with the short runs instead of the long runs.

For some reason couldn't get my gybes working on port tack, these are usually my best, so I had to rely on my ordinary gybes on starboard for my alpha.

Great day though, nice to sail Boombas in a westerly. No super smooth weed was well under the surface, would have like to use a 45d fin, but wasn't game in case I missed seeing one of the bigger weedburgs.

yunderup to boombas tracks

You can see in our lastruns as the wind was getting more North in it. I was running over the tail end of Narimba Cay, this part is fairly deep and not a problem, but I was keeping an eye on it making sure I didn't get any further west.

Just to entertain us a big stink boat slowly drifted towards shore in the deepest part, about half way between boombas and yunderup. shared a friendly wave with the guy at the stern as I passed in for lunch. It was there all our afternoon session, and the rescue boat had it's tender in attendance as we went in about 1630

N 10-20+ knots-Fanatic Falcon 111-Simmer SC 7m-Select Elite 39cm Nice warm blast 30c today.

Great to be out but no-one else was around:-( The local carp had the better of me today who were basking near the surface! Dont know how many I missed but eventually I nabbed one with susequent slow motion catapault that you can be thinking about which was mostly "fuck you motherfuckers"!!:-(

Pretty over-powered towards end and thought time to gracefully end this session.

Argh Morts - sounds like a Cobbler sting, I feel ya pain man. Cry

"  All the above results are totaly attributable to fangy as his fin was used for the whole day, and as Coodanup was in sight should probably be elligible for the Fangy five."   First part of the sentence seems to be looking good, but then falls apart with the last bit... sorry Mate Foot in mouth

"I was first to crack under the pressure" Only because you were flat out at work at 0500, and I had a nice sleep in.

Nice work guys, glad you had a good day of it in less threatening conditions.

Morts, for ye olde cobbler, get your self some self adhesive air activated heat packs from the chemist (keep a few in the car), they'll do the trick! if you get the real small ones they'll go inside a work boot the next day when you martyr yourself at work the next day.

Hope the pain fades quickly (but it won't)

Morts likes to leave a bait trail! However not the way to end a session:-( I myslf went to play with the denizens at my local eventually catapaulting to those underwater terrorists (CARP). Given the hit was substantial I turned the board over to find x2 largish fish scales stuck to bottom of the board!

Great endurance and determination for the distances guys. Kudos to you both:-)

Morts the Simmer SC is about 4+ years old but have only used it 3-4 times (bought brand new). This was a reserve sail until my Loft Blade clapped out to which it has now. So can't comment on current models. I'm still dialing this in but with my adjustable outhaul had a large wind range. The cams are not rotating but then I may not have right down haul.
