Melville Beach, WA, AU

Straight up i can say no injuries or broken equipment, wohoo! What a fun session but. It blew up nicely but being Melville I rigged the 7.5, just to be safe and cruised the Attadale foreshore snagging plenty of decent gusts. It was a painful slog upwind but the bear off back to the sandbar was a lot of fun and worth it. The usual keelboat slop and chop made it challenging. Finished the session off back at Melville beach. Had a quick chat with Tim and took a look at his new board, which looks a lot like a foil board to me Cool

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Very late sail but only just - big thanks to Steve for some extra long fin bolts for the new kit, otherwise it would have just been beers and a sunset. Very happy to have a bigger board and be able to enjoy these more marginal conditions, although some of the gust in the middle stood me up.

Windfoil, Foilville, Majestics

Gusty, no wind, lots of wind then too much wind, then no wind. Yep one of those days but still good fun

Green Head, WA, AU

Slalom day at Leeman. forecast said 15-23 knots but pretty sure you can add 5 knots to any forecast when talking about Leeman.

Started with a figure 8 course for 20 minutes with the numbers of laps being tallied. I went for test runs with the 5.5 race sail first until the wind picked up and was too much so rigged the 4.7 wave sail. Definately wasnt the fastest guy out there so I pretty much was trailing the pack of 20 sailors at the start. The smaller sail felt comfortable to gybe and I didnt drop a gybe the whole 20 minutes 15 gybes in a row. First time for me to gybe around crowded gybe marks and people in the water so inititally gybed very wide of the pack until I got a bit more confident and turned close to the bouy. At the end of the 20 minutes we all came in and I expected to come in last of one of the last but ended up 10th out of 20?? still felt like the tortoise racing with the haresLaughing. Jesper came first on a 6.3 followed by Avan, Isaac, Chris Adamson and Shane but not in that order.

Next was a relay race with people organised into teams according to their seeding from the first race. I was teamed with Jepser, Claude and Luke. Wasnt our best performance and even Jesper couldnt carry us so we finished 4th out of 5 I think. Avan's team with Mike White, Terry A blitzed everyone.

So a more fun day of racing than yesterday. Had a big catapult today even though the conditions were more sane than yesterday still had a great time in Leeman and I even won a carton of Emu! Cool

Nicely done Jase! Congrats X 2. Did you have a spare boom or did you buy another one?

Went and saw Reg and bought another one. I am sick of breaking second hand equipment so X6 bin, X9 win. Got a good price on last year's model and it is AWESOME!!!!!!!I could swing off it like a monkey bar. The clips on my old X6 used to pop off all the time. With the new boom I instantly feel more confident heading further from shore.

Legendary effort KennyCool All that ocean training has clearly paid off as you knew what to sail and got to the end in good time, no easy feat from what I have heard and a sound strategy!! Emu is the new hispster brew buddy, you scored, looking forward to cracking a tinny and hearing more stories at some point. Big congrats.

10th in that field is an excellent result, showing your class, Kenny. All that practice has paid off.

Smashed it Kenny - I could tell from your first fearless nuclear winter Crazies and Dutchies sessions that you're a natural in the ocean Cool

Jase - nice downwind angle on your NM - congrats on the PBs
