Coal Point, NSW, AU NE 12-15 + at times slalom and foil event.Top day had. Hey Bruce, word has it you face butted your boom and ended in bad results. We all demand that you heal quickly because we need numbers on the water. ....some even said they miss you, so you best heed the demand....so.

Coal Point, NSW, AU

WWell...it was a hard day for me today.  True to my record l packed my car according to the advice of seabreeze...

Seems like l ll never learn . I took only my 8m foil sail and of course l wished l had packed at least my 7m. So l suffered in that first 30 minutes free gps. Later we did 3 slalom races for which l used more downhaul like Hedgie would have advised me. It was a lot easier more manageable but still angry with myself for being so dumb.

Remind me not to do this again! !!!!

Thanks to Murray Greg Tia Barry for doing a good job..it's always good to see the Sydney boys and girls up here but our local guys put on a good show too.

10-17kts E lumpy and chopped up at timesCoal Point, NSW, AU

7.5m GT Turbo -Rs4 ( 111ltres) - 43cm makani weedy

 then

 Windtech85ltre - 5.7m gator - 25cm maui ultra wave centre fin

A fun day! I thought about going in the first 30 min race but when I got out in front of Coal it was really lumpy and chopped up and patchy wind. Not much fun. I headed up above the point and got an extra 5kts of wind for 30mins nicely powered on flatter water. The yachts were racing here too but I managed to time it so I missed them and although it was still a bit chopped up at times it also had some nice, more regular chop. I had some lovely runs towards Green Point and back past Coal.

Had a short break and back out, once again good wind for the runs to  Carey and the chop had flattened out . I had some lovely long reaches there and back..Tongue out Starting to wear out though..Frown

Came in and it was getting a bit stronger so I rigged the Windtech with the new fin. I also put the Wizmount on . I didn't want to fall in as usually that makes the go pro flop and finishes the footage. it was pretty marginal and i only planed occasionally  but I made it above the point and back. The board felt glued to the water on the way back and there was a lot of pull on my body. I just put it down to the design and not being enough wind. ..until I fell in and I noticed a pile of weed on the fin..Undecided Took it off , waterstarted and the board just took off..Tongue out Grr It could have been a great session if I'd thought to drop in and clear the fin..

Coming back was a hoot ! Tongue out  I was running just upwind of Lajos . I just checked and the camera worked.. yay!

When I first took the windtech out I couldn't believe the ride..I know I go on but after being on the slalom board and feeling every lump this thing just floated around like an airbed in the slop , so fun and comfy..Except for the fact that it probably wouldn't fit  in the van I could be really tempted by a larger Windtech freeride board for lighter conditions..Tongue out

Lots out racing and freesailing / foiling.

Great day although I don't think I've seen such thick lines of weed - much thicker strands than usual.

I'm looking forward to another go with the new fin in less weed. I think it's going to get me going earlier and get me upwind better as planned.

Yes a great social day. I didn't race but some of the race formats looked fun!

Well done to the organisers.
