10-17kts NE-ENE Peely Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- level 0.24

7m ODm2- RS2 ( 90ltres) - 18cms V2 FF

I went too small. The big board ( RS$)  and 24cms FF  fin would have been cruisy and fun. This was hardwork.

The first try of the 18cm FF and it went ok but I think it needs to be better powered. the cutdown 24 would have gone upwind better.

I struggled to get up to the pole and didn't get enough wind to try any real bearaways.I got a good gust and got the 2 sec out in the chop on the run in.

My gybes are improving but still no planing ones although there may not have been enough wind.

Pugs, Mike , Jason and Pete.

We all rigged for a summer NE. it was a good breeze but it is September so you can't expect too much.

Jimmies Beach NSW - A bit hectic on the SLW with 8.5 Ezzy Cheetah. Marine Rescue station seemed to be under reading the wind today, 16-20kts. Seemed like a steady 20kts to us. The SLW handles survival mode pretty good.

Mid way through i swaped to Mistral Explosion 145ltr board with 48cm fin. Big spinouts. That was alot easier to sail, but didnt go upwind back to the beach as well as as the SLW.
More succes trying gybes on the Mistral i'd say.
