I dont know how i feel exaclty about this PB just yet.
It is the fastest i've gone. But it felt slow. I guess i only just properly got it into 1st gear for a spurt. Where as i'm used to riding SLW in top gear and it feels fast.

Baby steps. Hopefully when conditions are right for it next time i get comfortable get it into second.

20-30kts then 10-15kts then 15-20kts S Valentine, NSW, AU

4.2m Sailworks - WT85ltre waveboard - 20cms centre fin

 then 6.5m Turbo- WT57 ( 90ltres) - 28cms WT weedy

Got there at 10.30 and it was freezing cold , noone else in sight and blowing 25-30kts ..I wasn't at all enthused so just rigged my smallest gear as it was supposed to pick up later. When I finally went out I was so underpowered  could barely keep upright on the waveboard.Undecided

It died down a little so I rigged the 6.5m - 90 combo and planned to swap as needed. That was a bit scary in the gusts.

I usually focus on trying to improve my gybes when I sail in the chop. I didn't sleep well last night and was very tired so my gybes were crap. I'm usually happy with any speed over 26kts in the middle and i got a couple of 27kts and a 28 so I decided to focus on the 2 sec and gp fpr a 5 x 10 ( I've never done that  before).

I was stoked to see a 29kts on the screen of the GT. I knew it would be downgraded but luckily took photos as the GT had issues with a locked screen that wouldn't undo. I finally got it to switch off but I lost all the data. Yell

I got it from James 2ndhand 12 years ago so I can't complain.

Oh well I've got the photos. Cool

 PB 2 sec ( previous best 28.44kts )

PB - 5 x 10sec ( previous 25.13kts)

A total buzz, if a bit hary,  flying down over the back of the  chop..Tongue out Buggered but happy.Smile

I may not be able to do the twisty thingies the wings can do but I love being faster than them.Laughing

Good speeds Sue. I thought this was choppy, but Valentine must have been heaps more.
Looking forward to learning to ride this board over Mungo chop, which you lot would probably call flat anyway Laughing

Thanks Mobz.

Congratulations on your PBs. Not bad for the first real sail on it. That was on a reach so you'll go faster once you bearaway.

Get used to the board first so you know you can get back upwind. Laughing
