Coal Point, NSW, AU.

Stingray 140, Flow 1500, Naish 5.8 then 4.2

Southerly 20-27

Started out on the 5.8 nice for about 1 min and then it kicked in to 20 kts, headed up wind but things got a bit too much so home for the 4.2. By this stage it was high twenties. Had a few runs on the 4.2 but not really much fun way overcooked!

Mungo Brush, NSW, AU - Carve 99, 5.3, 32cm

I dont know if it's the board or the wind, but everytime i get the little one out the wind seems variable, big time. It is!
If i was on the right kit up here it could have been gold. I guess it i did ok with it, but would have liked more bouyancy when the fan turned down.

10-30kts S-SSW- SSE Coal Pt

7m Turbo - WT64 ( 112ltres) - 32 cms WT weedy 1 run

 then

5m gator - WT 85ltre Waveboard - 20cms centre fin one run

Should have gone to Marmong and run the gauntlet of jellies.Undecided

 SO frustrating..Yell

I went to Coal beacuse it was supposed to go SE.

Blowing all over the place at first then the S came through at 25kts .. settled to 10-15kts but I didn't trust it so I rigged the 7m and big board. One run and it started to pickup to 20kts plus so back in and rigged the small gear for c 20-24kts.

Note to self - never go to Coal if it's a big blow and you need wavegear.

Crap trying to get out. 2-3ft rollers and 10kts wind. Not enough to waterstart so I swum out to the windline. This took forever because each roller would push me back into the shallows. I finally got enough wind to waterstart but by the time I got the sail up and ready I'd been pushed sideways back inshore and lost any gain from swimming.Yell. I munched my fin several times  on the reefs and there was plenty of swearing.Undecided

I finally managed to get up and out past the jetty and the wind was now 25- 30kts and I was dangerously overpowered. Luffed the sail and made my way out until I got a lull. Dropped in , waterstarted and made my way carefully back in. Massive windswells coming through by now.

If I'd been somewhere with a decent launch I would have rigged the 4.2m and gone back out and had fun.Undecided No way I'd get going with a 4m in that windshadow.

Even Andrew had problems with his 4m on the big board and ended up floundering off the rocks between jetties. He managed to get going though and had an ok sail..

 What a waste of wind..Yell

Jibe? 🤩 I wish! So far, turning around on the blue bullet is ugly. Kit went flying next and i fell inward.

Great photo's ..I really like that one with the two black swans in - I'd put that on the wall if that was me with them in the photo!

..wouldn't know its a lake - looks like the open sea at Coal Point.

Finally upright and trying to get out of the shore break and above the jetty. I couldn't get above the jetty so I relaunched and spent the next 15mins tring to get out  over the other side in the 'breakers"
