sboardcrazy (26691km): ![]() 19th Wing 5-8kts then patches 12-14kts WNW - NW Teralba, NSW, AU 5m Matador - 130ltre Fone- 1800 wing 1st wing since March 11th I 've realised I've had a change of attitude to winging. I've gone from " I need to learn how to wing ' to 'It will be interesting learning how to wing." I just found the wingding dropdown in KA so the PB's aren't accurate.. Nowhere near enough at the start but nice and flat and I justed wanted to taxi around and get back into it. Managed to stand up without wind on port tack but had a hell of a time trying to stand on starboard..( see tracks 1st time I've managed to shuffle around and change direction. It's certainly easier when you don't fall in as much.No trouble getting back to the launch I even ended up too high and had to learn how to do a run in. I've found some good Youtube videos on stance and arm position and it made a big difference knowing what to aim for. Did a run or 2 then a rest , then back out , then another rest and one last go with some decent gusts coming through. Still sorting out wing control but I'm starting to figure out what's going wrong and how to fix it. Managed to get up from kneeling in a gust easily on port tack , but I was too tired by the time I needed to try starboard, and kept falling in. I tried to get going and did the usual thing and headed off downwind practically running over the wing and figured out I can avoid that by using my legs to bring the board back upwind more..By the time it came in I was too tired and falling in so i finished up. 1st time I've actually 'enjoyed ' it. Long way to go though. Noone els around until I was going when gert and Paul turned up. |
