23 hours ago A great fun sail at Port Vincent. My turbo dies on the way here so my car as at the mechanic, so I can't drive down to Stansbury as I usually would. I managed to use occy straps to tie all my gear onto our crab tub on wheels to walk 1km down the road towing all my gear. When I arrived I found I had no fun screws, so I ran back to the shack and then back to the beach again. The wind was expected to increase from about 16 to 20, which it did. I rigged my 7.0 Severne Mach 1 and combined it with my JP 113l and 24cm fangy fin. The tide was close to its lowest when I start sailing, with a low of 0.3m, which leaves a huge length of the spit exposed. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a SE rather than a straight Southerly. I was chasing an Alpha pb, albeit hard to do on medium sized gear. I was wearing thick soled booties due to the razor backs and they always catch when gybing, even after loosening my foot a lot before the gybe. Shame I couldn't sail with others too.
