 patchy 5- 17kts S - SSE Valentine, NSW, AU

 6.5m turbo - WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms tectonics

 2 runs with WT57 ( 90ltres)

Fun! I'd got rid of speedy Gonzalas with the 124kms of sailing at Budgy last week and just wanted a cruisy sail.

I'd usually put the 7.2m - 7.5m on the 125ltre and expected to be underpowered. I was but it was lovely in the gusts.

It was easier gybing the smaller sail on the larger board so I got most of them and could analyse the stuff ups. There was a dead spot close in so I worked up a bit to get more wind for gybing near the shore.

I had a great long bearaway towards Toronto..it was much flatter than usual and I was wishing I was more powered up .I reckon 27 /8kts would have been possible..Tongue out

Dodging Croudace Bay yachts at 1st but they disappeared to Marmong.

Getting better with the waterstarts..I really need a different tendon for chop but I won't bother. The one I have isn't flexible enough so when the mast goes to the bottom of the lake the board has to flip upside down to line up with the mast. Yell

2 runs with the smaller board . It was a bit dodgy getting going with the dead patch in close and I was careful to gybe in a strong patch so I could waterstart.

Steve said there was a large shark longer than his board out there ( probably the Hammerhead).

I'm loving my SharkBand..Laughing I'm  feeling much more relaxed when I'm swimming the gear around.

Nicest day on the lake for ages! Nice not to be hanging on for grim death.

Fins - Steve out 1st then me , another guy did one run and catapulted through his sail..lots of wingers.
