Pointman (29971km):  Well that was interesting. Got down to Rocko around 2:30, and it was glass inshore, but there looked to be a windline a few kays out. It was 18-20K at Garden Island, so I rigged the 8.0 + 560 wing. Headed out around 3:15, but the wind line was still a long way offshore, and I was out by the end of the causeway before I found consistent pressure. Did a few runs, but I was getting further and further out, and when I came inshore I was hitting this dead zone between the Sou Easter inshore and the sea breeze offshore. Eventually the sea breeze retreated altogether, and I was out the GI end of the causeway in a 5 knot Sou 'Easter. Fuck what now? Figured I could make the causeway and clamber up with my kit, and flag down a car, but the causeway boulders look kinda gnarly, so I wasn't keen on that option. Instead I managed to flag down a couple of lads on a jetski, and explained my predicament. Absolute legends towed me back to shore Pretty happy to get away with that one Left my gear on the beach and the bloke even taxied me back to my car on the ski! Track below.
