Tabou Manta 71, NP RSR Evo X 7.8m, Elmo SS 42cm exp Mk ?

Supposed to be a breezy afternoon so got down to Novara around 1330 to see Strop and Firey, standing around discussing the best 12v fridges to keep their manscaping cosmetics fresh.

After much sitting around, well Firey and myself, Strop was striking his super hero pose, trying to track our wind sacrifice Jon who was tacking up wind (figuratively speaking) about 3km to the wind  (again) line. Unfortunately for us Jon is not much of a sacrafice as he is 60kg dripping wet carrying his board foil sail and moderate sized esky, whereas all afore mentioned peoples sitting around and striking heric poses, generally have no need of weight jackets.

Terry even made an appearance having returned from the land of the dark grey cloud.

Still eventually, it looked like the westerly had finally beaten the easterly into submission and white caps were a forming, so the Bob fella promptly packed his board away, muttering something about his child bride and a bowl of custard.

Terry not long followed suit as his 6.8m possibly would have been way underpowered, although I've made that mistake before assuming that only to have him go screaming past with smugness in his wake.

The rest of us optimists, promtly started rigging, in the mean time the westerly gave up the ghost and the SE returned, still, it's been a week so I was out to embarrass myself and get some salt water therapy.

On the water, it wasn't to bad, yes there was some holes, yes there was an uncoordinated gumby between the boom and board, but he was a happy uncoordinated gumby.

Some nice short runs, now where near overpowered but enough that It wasn't an effort.

Eventually all good things must come to an end and I had to do some shopping for dinner when the wind decided to fade and I had to chug in on a speed sailing line with out the speed or realistically the sailing, a few AOT's and boddy drags and back to shore once more to see, many a happy face.

Wind in the sail, out with mates, how blessed am I?

Good times

Sail at Liptons in the corner, had another go on the 5.6 GT3, used with the 60cm board and 23@40/60.

Still learning about the sail, initially I had tro much negative outhaul, and possibly not enough downhaul.

But I had a nice sail with it, even though I couldn't get any speed.

I have a feeling I should have had a bigger fin to cope with the chop better.

Nice to have Remery for company, there wasn't anybody else around.

I drove down in the tiny car and forgot to bring sunscreen, a camelback and a sail. Thanks to Decrepit for loaning a sail so I could actually get on the water.
