sboardcrazy (27614km): ![]() 5-10/12kts then 5 - 13kts S Valentine, NSW, AU 7.5m Turbo- 125ltre Tabou Bullit - 38cms tectonics weedy 2 runs WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms Tectonics weedy The usual story, I wore myself out before it got good. Not enough to get going on the big kit. Got a few puffs near the end for 19kts. It felt like a cargo carrier going down the back of the waves. Hardwork , a lot of weight and drag. B boats! It seemed everytime I got a gust good enough to try and get going some boat would cross in front of me and leave washing machine 1m boatwake to slam through. It seemd to be coming in so I went out on the WT at the end. Not enough wind. I got going 2 x sedately powered but what a hoot! Much more fun , lively and light. I was worried about gybing it . I got them but each gybe was s..t! s..t! s..t! s..t! s..t! al1 the way around.. I felt my age today , tired and weak..lost the gear on one gybe and had to swim for it but it was in close. I'm starting to plan my gybes so if possible when I lose the gear it will blow ashore. It didn't help that I went out in my 3mm wettie and boiled.. There were a few rescue support boats across the other side for dinghy races. I went close by and yelled ' keep an eye on me will you? I'm an old bugger and if I lose the gear I'll need rescuing!" It came in nicely as I packed up. Good to have Luke , Pete and another guy out. I gave Pete a go on my 64Wt - 7.5m. The sail looks good . The bugger did a beaut few gybes and got a better 2 sec than me ( more wind). Hopefully I'll have enough energy to sail tomorrow. I hope it's a few knots stronger so I can use the WT's.. that's when the fun begins.. Luke was going well at the end.
