Jimmy's Beach, NSW, AU. McKee VX4 Hydro 76w 155ltr. Ezzy Lion 7.5. 40cm Redemtion cruise after yesterday on the tail end of the front. Morning light wind just enough. Fun going upwind then downwind a little faster steering through chop.

Marmong Point, NSW, AU.

We (Mick and myself) missed the wind but luckily I accidently took Leanne's foil stuff instead of mine. The 1099 Axis ART saved the day...so good in light winds and makes gybing so easy. Don't know why more people don't use AXIS. Well...I do know ...they listen to a certain font of knowledge at the club that has never used AXIS but according to him anything other than F4 foils and Neil Pryde sails are crap. I find it amusing when Leanne goes past him with her Axis foil and Ezzy Cheetah sail.

Southerly 3-6 knots with a 7 on the odd occasion. Glenn R made it almost easy. I got lift off on one occasion.

I would correct you here Mobz...Glenn's Alpha is amazing as implies there is almost no deceleration in the turn. 15.6kt bear away speed vs 13.7kt Alpha....Seems a foil is infinitely better compared to slapper for low wind.   Compare this with current Oz best Alpha on slapper by Woody on Jan 21 2023 of 29.384kts..entry speed hit 36 kts. Slowed to 15kts in the turn (less than 1/2).  Accelerated back to above 30kts in 10 secs.   Exit speed peak 33.5kts.  (I can't even sail full bear away at Woody's cross wind speed so his Alpha is just mind boggling) Maintaining the speed in turn and acceleration after turn is killing slappers vs foilers.    Maybe these Mckee boards will close the gap?

Thanks for the kind words Dave and Jim (aka MobZ and Flex). It really is the gear that does the job. Fantastic in light wind and great for making my gybes look half decent. I am the first to admit there are faster foils and sails than the 1099 Axis ART and 8.0 Ezzy Cheetah sail combo but I'm not sure if there is anything on the market that can give you such a good time in sub 8 knot winds

Will see Flex. Today would have been more than 8kts surely. But check the photo on my post, Mungo glass on a south westerly?! I planed into the beach. The slw would have done that too probably, but it’s way bigger to carry.

I have the same foils as Glen used and I can tell you the driver makes the difference.
