Sanctuary Point 15 knots SW / S

Starboard Formula 160, Severne SSR 10.0

Starboard S-Type 104, Loft Switchblade 6.8, Select Viper 30cm

I know it's a religious holiday, but did the wind have to be holey too?

A quick blast on the formula then the wind picked up, so I headed in for the smaller kit. That stopped the wind building and capped it to 15 knots. At least I got to test the 6.8 with the 30cm fin - it is a great combination!

Wasn't expecting too much but had a nice sail nonetheless. Got to Sandringham in time for the strip to get exposed but the wind just wasn't strong enough. Toiled around on my RSR 6.7 & Falcon 90 for an hour and a half and was going to go home but then Sam turned up so i went down to my Drops and had another 45 mins or so. Wind was starting to get dodgy and neither Sam or I wanted to be swimming our gear back if the wind dropped right off so we headed back to the beach.

Happy with the speeds considering I doubt the wind got any stronger than 15 - 18 knots at the most all day.

Sand Point, palm beach Pittwater, Starboard 161, RSR 10.7 VMG K70

12-20knots on the water, ended up being quite a bit stronger than expected. I came in for a breather & heard the dreaded gunshot followed by a big kink in my sail... no more back up mast. I had a quick go on Ads rig before heading home, funny how small a 9.8 feels after being on a 10.7, i had an impressive catapult to finish off the day with...

Sand Point, palm beach Pittwater.

Starboard Formula 160, Drake R13 Race 700 NR, NP RSR 9.8

As Seano mentioned, bit of a surprise as the wind picked up once on the water. Parking was a bit of a premium up that way too. (Thanx Seano for the rigging!)  Still got a ways to go to get comfortable in anything above 18knots or so, on the formula gear but getting there slowly but surely. Good to try out a new spot though. Well it's been a long time & I've never made it that far up wind. Scotland Island looks nice. I might however, bring the slalom gear along the next time!Cool

Late arvo with Rexy at Sandringham. 7.0 RS Racing Evo 2 on the JP Speed 73l and 32 cm C3 Venom. Great to hit the water again but next time will go a size or 2 bigger on the board front as it was a b**** to get upwind to the strip.

Stoked to see how early the board could get planing though. As Rexy said it couldn't have been much over 15-18 in the gusts.

Sam.

Great going Cockies. Good turnout and some great speeds for the conditions.
