Hardies Run, WA, AU

Took my new 'big board' to Hardies. It is blazing fast - a great board with a huge range. Have dabbled around on it on the river with the 8.3 on both Friday and Saturday  arvo in choppy light conditions [bought it last weekend] but today got to try it with the 7.5 at Hardies. Should have been on the 111 but just had to try it. With a couple of 34 peaks and a 33 average I am very happy with this board. It is faaast and its 79.5 cm wide!!!

safety bay mission again, and it was a blast. Wind was a bit less than last weekend (so lower peak speed) but the tide was lower so the water was flatter so I was getting some longer runs. Used the Nude 42 with KA23 fin and EIII 6.2m. Was smoking considering the wind strength. Fastest session for me all summer on the 5x10. Best 10 sec run was 40.98kts. Stoked to get another great day so late in the season. SB rocks. Good to see a few Perth crew out. wooohooo.

Was struggling to get planing a few times and had a few swims waiting for gusts on the outside. Gusts were barely over 25 but they were fairly steady at times. Amazing how fast flat water can be in not so windy conditions. Loads of kites out but managed to avoid them on most runs, if you allow a radius around them it doesnt matter if they turn without looking, or pull their rope for an awesome 30cm boost. The radius doesnt have to be very big since the fastest ones are slower than a 105 year old granny with a zimmer frame.

Started at Pt Wally with the fellas. Was fun blasting down the run but discovered a few lurking clumps of string weed just under the surface at the top of the run. Hard to spot in the glare making life a little hairy so group decision to head to Melville. It was worse down there...gusty. Headed back to Wally, bit of fun getting back amongst the big stinky boats.

Fun to do something a little different. Thanks Nebs for the help in retrieving my 'missing' data !

cheers. Yeah Sam its a bit of a minefield with those kites and sailors downwind. Just realised this is my 3rd fastest WA session on 5x10. The only faster sessions were those two nuking days at Pt Walter last Jan/Feb. Stoked! All 6 sessions I've had in WA with 5x10sec over 40kts were on NP. 5 of them in the past 13 months.
