What a great day on the bay. I was out earlier than most as I had to leave by 5. So on the water at about 1:30 with the big gear (Starboard GO and 7.2 Hellcat). Wind was lightish for the first hour, pefect for my gear for the next hour and it picked up towards the end, but I had no time to change gear so stayed on the big gear. I was not over powered at all, so must not have got above about 20 knots. Would have liked to have some fun on the small gear, but... next time!! Unfortunately my GPS went flat at 4. So I just estimated the total distance by adding 30 minutes more sailing at my average speed for the first 2.5 hours. Also, KA72 got a 40+ knot 2s, which is obviously wrong, so I just added 2.5 knots to my 5X10 which is typically the gap I get between 5X10 and 2s peak.
Great to see Karl out there, and a few of the Cockroachs. I didn't talk much to anyone, and pretty much sailed non-stop and rigged and de-rigged quickly. Sorry for my lack of social-ness guys!!
