Lyn had other arrangements today so I went down to Tinaroo dam expecting some sort of a sail in N/E winds.....Hans was there and we rigged up just expecting mostly light winds with a few gusts.    We figured we would have to keep our eyes open in case of thunderstorms..     Well we launched and I got a couple of half hearted runs and suddenly, without warning the wind changed to SE..   We were not in the best part of dam for S/Easters..    Clem and Jill arrived and quickly launched just as the wind changed.    A few minutes later the wind dropped off and I came in.....     used 7.0m and 120l S/cross.

NMF.....Not Much Fun.

Had an awesome sail at the beach with Troppo and a couple of others, really enjoyed the deap blue water Cool

Started to rigg the 6.8 but it has finially died a horrible death, gave it to Jesper, merry xmas mate Laughing Went out on my 5.9 and no excuses, was powered and felt like I was flying but Troppo creamed me the bastard, must be that bloody board he borrowed Wink Got to say I was super disapointed in my Nm, don't know what went wrong there, I'll check my file when home YellCry

Any way super happy for Troppo's, the kid was on fire Tongue out

Hey Squiddy, good to see you get a sail, the boys at the beach had to take off so I went to Melville for a look at 6, should have stayed might have seen you ?

The wind was really patchy and gusty at Melville, I headed straight back downwind when I got there. I just sailed up there for something to do and see what it's like up there on a SW as I always see sails up there. I did wonder if you'd be there and thought about staying on the way up there but it took a long time with the weed fin so it seemed like a good idea to get back down wind before the breeze started dropping. By the time I'd done all those upwind legs I was a bit too worn out to feel comfy off the wind! Anyway, findings were the chop is worse at Peli Pt but at least the wind is a lot better.

Squiddy, the wind looked crap at 6pm at Melville so I bolted, I think it was a lot better earlier. Was still blowing at the beach when I headed off, boy I have sand in eveything Frown Laughing

Nice work guys and lovely 2 sec peak speed Troppo.  Good to see you get out too Phil - I know that feeling.  So only Tinaroo, Mackay and Perth were sailed for FNQ yesterday Wink  One day we'll get all spots sailed in the one session (Cairns, GI/Arlington Reef, Tinaroo Dam, Port Douglas, Kurrimine, Townsville, Bowen, Mackay, Yeppoon, Darwin, Perth)

Nice numbers Firie and Troppo, it's all a distant memory at the moment.

Snags - Not much chance of Darwin being there. We've had three days with enough breeze to possibly get planing with the 7.5 since I've been back but each time low tide has been in the middle of the day and to low to be able to get in the water. I was hoping to do a month and a halfs work in W.A. then a quick trip too Perth for a sail but it all fell through. Fingers crossed we get some cyclones this year, they are the best sails I have had here.
