Sandy Point, Vic, AU

Couldnt let James freeze his nads off camping last night, so offered him a room at Casa Del Dan last night.  This morning we made the early call to head to the Pit rather than risk another frustrating session at Invy.  We were on the water by 9:30 and had a great session.  recently i've only been down there when its been 25+knots so it was nice to have a cruise down there today.  Wind was maybe 15kts SW, wind went more W for a while then back to the SW.

Isonic 101, 7.4 Koyote - PB's all round for this kit - first time over 30 on the big gear.

On the way home almost made it all the way back, came round a bend and the Tarwin River had broken its banks.  Got detoured back to Fish Creek then arount to Meeniyan, Koonwarra then back into Invy that way.  Bit frustrating, added about 45mins to my trip home.

Mick, Oldie, Ash Richie and Team Worner.  Thanks for the coffee Tash as we came off the water.

Great day with big gear.  Water was like ice and all murky from the down pours.  Sailed the Inner, Middle then back to the Inner Banks today.  Had to guess when the water was shallow, resulted in a few forced dismounts.  All in all a good day on the water.

LOCATION:  ANGLING CLUB and OUTER

WIND:  SW-WSW- <12 KTS

GEAR:  JP Excite 160, 46 s/sport fin, KA KOYOTE 8.2, SATRBOARD SUPer 12'6

DETAILS:  Very murky water but an ok breeze.  Took the big board out to mark a few of the No Boating Buoys for a proposal we are submitting to Gippsland Ports.  Came back in and set up the CA FR77 and the Sup. Chose the Sup as the beeze looked a tad light.  Rich and Ash rocked up on their sups as well and along with Oldie, we played "Run Rabbit Run" with Old Salty on the shortboard on the the outer bar.  In marginal planing conditions the SUp was streets ahead but the moment you could pop onto the plane, the sup was left for dead.

Nice full tide at the end of the day saw some swell and chop on the inside run.  Hopefully it scours out some of the sand.

Thanks EJ,

It really doesnt feel like a long way on the longboard but I think its the way its set up.  Really nice and balanced but with a fair bit of grunt.  The longer run on the outer bank eats up the distance too!

I've noticed your distances have been improving a lot since you have had the longboard. It helps when you have a long run. Area 45 also seems good for distance on the right day also.
