Lotz of fun at Fangy's wif Fangy & Decrep, Hit one weed berg and went flying thru the air, bit of whiplash on landing, but fun anyway.  TR-9 7m JPSLALOM8 66cm, pepeweed 26/48, after the stack on the LE 31/39

Hardie and I joined Fangy at Fangy's except we went to the S bend, I'm still a bit intimidated by those stairs, especially in gusty conditions.

Had another test of the avi 6.0 on the 53 and 25. Rigged a bit looser than yesterday, still great in the lulls but gusts weren't so nice.

Handed it over to Maxedout after he knocked off work, unfortunatel breeze had died a bit by then and he didn't get to try it in the stronger gusts.

I rigged the 6.6 koncept and went almost as fast.

My first taste of a properly cool temperature sail. Cool enough to break out the wettie and still get out of the water and hour or so later with two belly buttons and a possible sex change.I got down to Fangys early after lunch having fed the snotgobblers. I didnt have Decrepit there to tell me what not to rig, so had to rig the wrong sail myself.

I went for the 7.5Koncept on the F2log. I cant say I was ever really comfortable today and I am not sure whether it was the chop, the wind being gusty and shifty or being rigged wrong most of the day. For a few seconds the holes in the cheese aligned for me and I got a good little blast but I had to bail a short time later because it just hairier than my back. I had no control and was just hanging on.On the up side it bounced both my balls back down from where they had gone into hiding with the cold.  I think the thought was that if you can drive fast enough over gravel road corrugations they become bearable, so the same must apply to downwind over chop right?

I have said it before, but total respect for you guys that go fast in rough water.! In retrospect I think I would have liked to go next size down for a least  the early part of the session.I had my MUFin26speed weed and I think the 7.5 requires something abit bigger. However I am always very wary of fin depth and size on the run itself.

Unfortunately Hardasjelly had managed to get himself into the so 'seriously optimistic as to defy reality' zone when it came to fin choice to start the day. I watched him come charging up from SBend looking really sweet and comfortable, as he usually does, only to come to a slow motion train wreck type halt halfway up the run. I thought he must have hit a stingray, but after sailing around a bit in the spot where things went awry I found the first big weed berg of the season. It was later that I found out that Silver Bullet head Hardy had tried to negoitiate the run with another surplus space Shuttle fin.

Decrep joined in the fun, complaining how he couldnt go up hill so well today, then proceeded to smoke uphill away from me so fast there where Sherpas throwing bits of dead mountaineer cunningly disguised as weed at him from the top end of the course.I watched Decrep for a bit have some solid runs down the speed run proper and hopefully he got some good numbers.

And finally as I was packing up I noticed some one sailing along the foreshore up from S bend smack in the middle of the channel that runs just off the foreshore bank. He followed it expertly all the way up to the finish of the channel at the Eastern edge of the main car park. I was stunned, who was this mystery man that sailed so confidently in just the right spot to pinch up to the top end. I watched as he took off down to the Nairns end and stack it beautifully in a pile of spray. Ahh..faith restored... Sorry I didnt get to say hello Max :-)

Well done Fangman, you take out the day and 2 jellybeans are the prize. I sailed on Saturday in warm sunshine, it felt like a wind was coming straight from the Antarctic today at work so I was not too disapointed I was not going to sail.

I'm glad the falls did not result in injury.

Fantastic stuff Ross, I think you'll keep those beans, not muc wind left this month.

Sorry I wasn't there to tell what sail not to rig, better luck next time.

Looks like we should have been there a bit earlier.

I know it is not over until the fat lady sings but I think this may be the first of many jelly bean months for you Fangman. That said I cannot count the months I have thought I was going to sneak through with a bean or two only to have them snatched from my trembling handsEmbarassed

Well done on braving the cold and taking out the 2s 5x and distance on the day.

Fangy, its a good day when you can best Decrepit and Hardie. Well done.

Fingers crossed for you holding onto those beans (looking at the forecast there is a good chance). They are special when you don't get many.

Yep they are both pretty well superfluous to the team now. I have more back hair than Decrepit and fatter than Hards, so all I need is Decrepit's free train travel pass and a Gold helmet (soo much better than a silver one) and I reckon I wont have to bother about picking them up from the Aged Care Facility next time its windy.

I agree Tricky, to me the GTC is great to motivate mates to sail together and have a laugh whatever the conditions.

Tricky, given all three of us are the equivalent of a Fort Knox of testosterone: who is the girl- the one with the longest hair?

Don't worry Decrepit, I think everyone had figured out it is Hardaspillows. He won cranium, nose and ear hair before you even started thinking about giving up your back, sack and crack waxing.

1st of the month and you still have 2 jelly beans Fangman, well done. The first of many I am sure, be happy with a 2sec and 5x as these can be particularly hard to get and keep!

Thank you Steve :-) I would have to admit I am both relieved and exhausted. The pressure of continually sledging my own team mates over the past week or so to keep them from even thinking about taking my jelly beans has taken its toll. I think I will just screen shot the jelly beans and then take a break. Maybe even as long as this afternoon.

Good work on the sledging Fangman, I did hear a rumour you were being referred to the team ethics committee with a view to allowing you to resign or formal dismissal. I knew it could not be true as you were the top scoring speed sailor :-)

Hmm Mandurah Mob Ethics Committee, yes we dabbled with that idea.... the problem was that any ethics committee that would have me as a member was not an ethics committee that I would want to be a member ofEmbarassed.............Sorry Groucho
