Captain skip bogan (50112km):
2016 days ago Yeehar that was a great day - one of the best!
Stansbury 25 to 30 with stronger gusts.
Arrived early to see Hoppy frantically rigging to get out and check the conditions. Wind dropped back so we waited and then Tricky turned up.
The wind started increasing and we decided on the 5.6 and 5.8 sails.
Hop and trick went out for a short time and came back in with the wind cranking. Tricky changed to the 5.2 and i went out for a check.
Fark it was windy and had to remember i was on a weedy and don't load up the fin too much.
Got in the speed zone and went cranking deep into the shallows and stepped off to see a 40.31 on the screen. I was stoked have been waiting along time to crack a 40 here and there it was - PB for Stansbury.
Hit the run several times and slowly went faster up to 41.12 and then the best run came. Hoppy and Tricky standing in the shallows which gave me a reference point and off i went bearing deep controlled into the shallows - pulled back and stepped off to see 42.84 on the screen - YEEHAR!!!
The wind soon starting swinging so went back to shore to wait for the NW to try for an hour and tidy up the rest.
Unfotunately the wind went straight offshore west and was gusty as hell. We pulled the pin and had beers and fish and chips - cheers Hop and Trick.
So stoked to finally have a 40 at Stansbury and also a pb on the slalom board. The other guys reckon it was choppy and also dodge tide so heaps of water so keen to get back and see if i can push harder again on low tide...
Patrik 87 / 5.6m Gun sails gsr / Vector weed speed 25 (fin rocks - thanks Tiges)
