Coodanup, WA, AU

Great way to end the week with a quick session at Coods. Lowest tide I've ever seen at Coods and about the cuviest naughty I've done trying to stop from running aground. Falcon56 Evo5.8 tribal delta 16

Pelican Point,WA

A quick session at Peli after the work xmas party. Pretty lumpy out there today and managed to get a couple of nice runs across the sandbar on peli point which was the only flat water around. Nice to be on the Windtech 57 Silver Bullet and tried out a new 25cm Tribal speedweed (with 5.6 Loft RB). Great way to unwind after a busy week at work. Heaps out and very hectic. Nice session at Coods Woody!

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Great day out with a few die hards at Point Grey, Strop showing a master class, Stretchy, Slugger, Terry and Cannonball all out enjoying some excellent conditions. It wasn't all smooth sailing, first run into Liptons clipped a fish, went off balance and the obvious of going over the handle bars. Only a minor tear in the sail 300mm x 200mm so bright spark decided to keep sailing against some solid advice from Stretchy to tape it up. What would stretchy knowLaughing well as it turned out found the breaking point 49 klm and 39.4knots speed with stronger gust in front is the breaking point of a minor tear to a shredded panel. Called it quits and let the boyz enjoy some excellent conditions at Point Grey. Always a pleasure watching Glenn send it as with all the other sailors as well.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU. Great arvo at Liptons, the wind booted in nicely. I made a poor fin decision, which stopped me capitalising on the conditions. My bad

In a land, far far away from familiar speed mecca (Lilacs, coods, liptons) was a mystical place, full of wonder and experiences like none other. A spread of spreads appreciated by few, but befit for any king, queen or consort... A place any fully tuned rally machine dreams of going... beyond a newly surfaced freeway... Melville in all its glory

Today was one of those days. Tide was waaaaay low. Pelican feet could be clearly seen high and dry in the middle of the usual speed run where they were having a huddle. The remaining flats were completely shut down unless you had a 5cm fin or some other invention that defies traditional logic (Jim?).

The chop in the remaining deeper bits is something else. Best preorder some dental implants for this mission... Close spaced pyramid chop. Pure evil. Wind swinging all over the show making multiple chop angles, combined with the "following the shallow channels" bending it even more and making it bounce back for evil squared. But.... the bullets were BRUTAL, making for some sick sends.

G*d it was delightful. Full tribal. I got to use my 102 for the first time since it was born... (in Feb this year), and got my brand spankers 6.2 Apache race to full noise... Used a 31cm Sym speed (upright fin) for a glorious relief from raked fins, and had the best sail I've had in ages. Smoking upwind and everywhere... Brutal chop gybes... Challenging, properly lit in the bullets, and on the edge at times..... yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehar!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit:

That was my fastest seabreeze session at Melville for almost 7 years (this one)! That last session was completely different... was able to get over the flats easily with a 33 weedspeed... 20cm less water yesterday so no chance.

Nice sessions Woody and Rob. Not too shabby for and after xmas party sail at Peli point Dan. Pity that sail didn't last a bit longer Boz, not much water and plenty of wildlife in liptons bay. Looked good in there later in the day but water looked a bit lively.

Ben lots of wildlife at PG,  if you decide to stop in the waist deep water good idea to keep an eye out a couple friendly smiley fish floating around that neck of the woods, lots of rays as well.

Oooh Mr Slowboat, impressive for Melville. Great to see you on full Tribal. Think I might need a 5.7 for some reason😜

Wildlife at Liptons was more of a trip hazard. I do prefer to stay on the board around the chanel, doesn't always go to plan.

Nice to see somebody enjoying the thrill of chasing the gusts at Melville. Sounds like it would have been too shallow for Pt Walter.
