Naish titan 126. redline 8.2, 42cm Wite water free ride. Just could not get it to click today - a bit over powered with the 8.2 but ditching the waist harness for the old NP butt sling made the differance. Well done for Martin today who ran rings round me!!

NE wind started around lunch time, so I went out on the lumpy ocean on my 7.8m and 117L board. I lasted about 1.5 hours there... it was hard work with a big sail and a 30% carbon mast (I broke my 100% carbon one a while ago...). Wind was increasing a bit, so I packed up and went down to Awatoto and rigged the 6.2, which was much lighter. Amazingly there were no kites around, only me and one other windsurfer. He and I raced each other for a few hours, then I realised I was close to doing 50 NM, so I kept going to reach that milestone. After 50 NM I changed the display to see distance in km, which was so close to 100 km, I thought I better keep going. So I made it past 100 km! Yahooooo! I can't imagine how these guys do 200km, let alone 400km! Lots of respect for them! Way to go Chris and Martin! I'm so glad you guys sailed today!

Shoal Bay NE-NNE ->17kn? usual up-&-dn and gusty; small wind chop HW-2.5 to + 0.5; iSonic 122 with Venom 420, MB at 1345 then 1335, and Redline 7m6.  Shifting the MB helped, but felt I was missing the extra gear ...

Craig - Awesome effort, even 50km seems too far.

Hi Craigoo,

I only just noticed this post.  Well done on cracking the ton mateSmile

It's a long way isn't it?  The trouble is that now you've got to go that far again before you can hit another PB!

Thanks for the encouragement... It seemed like a long way on a short course... 4 lengths made up 1 NM, so I had lots of practice tacking and gybing!   150 k seems like a good target to get next!  I'll wait for a windier day though... with the slow speeds I was doing, my foretrex memory was 92% full!Surprised
