Shoal Bay SW->SSW 15-25kn; wind chop, HW-2 to -1; CA SL58, Venom 34, mb 1360; Redline 6m4.  Starting to get into it when the boom came apart at 24kn, going out - worst part that it cracked the board too ...

Snuck out of work while the boss was in a meeting.... rode my bike home, got my gear, rigged and on the water for an hour, then back to work before the meeting ended!    This session was on Pandora Pond with a SW wind, probably only 15 knots or so.  Oh well, ya take what you can get!   7.0 sail, 117L, 27cm fin.

Lynfield speed run.

This is winter?, warm & sunny with 20-30 knots of wind.

No others out.Surprised

2 runs before carbon boom broke, 37 knots on broken boom.

Great that you got out Martin!   Bad news about the boom and board... hope you didn't get hurt as well?

Hey Izaak, it would be even better if I didn't windsurf!  2 carbon booms, 6 carbon masts, (along with many broken carbon masts!) a few carbon fins, a bit of carbon in the boards...  our whole sport has a lot to answer for!  We should all be riding our bike's to make up for it it!  (as long as it's not a carbon frame!)  But you know, with all my gear, it's getting pretty hard to get to the rigging spot.Surprised...

Hi Craig - good you got out, and we've moved up the table!

Great photo ...

Not sure about the science - isn't the point to sequester the carbon, not release as COx - so more gear the better!?

No, not hurt - snapped right between the head & arm, and just peeled off to windward ...

Looking forward to iSonic weather now

Martin, I think you're right, more carbon gear must be better for the planet!

Welcome to our new team-mate Michael Howard!  Nice speed there Michael - even on a broken boom!
