Pelican Point, WA, AU

Shark 160L, 33cm JP weed, 6m Arrows Trixx

Started with 6.8m, then swapped to 6m once the wind picked up. As I went back in with 6m, it dropped. Up and down, it was nice every now and again, but I was mainly wishing for a bit more.

Still it was nice to work witha smaller and lighter sail for a change.

Oh look, my last PB (max speed) to count for the ashes Smile

After having been crook for a week decided on a change of scenery and went to Woodies.

Wind didn't seem to kick in as per the forecast but went for an easy sail and rigged the 5.7. I love that sail!Cool

Not enough power for top speeds but some nice runs down the point. Was challenged to some drags by a tea bagger and had some good racing.

By the time most kites had gone and the tide was up the wind seemed to have backed off.

Had some good alphas but at 60m oh well.

WOOOO! Finally got past the old track point record !!STOOOKED!!

'Spot X' WA, had a great arvo out with a mate after picking up a new north mast. These gold masts are f*ing sweet!!

Downside: my board now has a hole in the bottom the size of a cd after a nice spill on a speed run.... Frown

Fantastic sesh at Pinnaroo in a pretty strong seabreeze.  According to the Ocean Reef chart gusts were well over 25K.

Started out on the 7.0 TR5 + 93 S-Type + 34 FO weedster, but after a couple of runs concluded I was hell overpowered Surprised

Changed down to 6.4 Koncept, which was a sweet set-up.

Pretty rough at Pinnaroo today, so well happy with these speeds going broad in mad chop.

Thought I might have managed a quicker hour, but I was going hard upwind for the first 10 or 15 minutes, which probably robbed me of knot.

Also had a scorching NM on the cards that probably would've nudged 30, but I hit the wake of the only stinkboat that passed by all day doing 30 knots and got launched and crashed.

Also pleased with the distance.  Bloody hard going out there today, so happy with the fitness.

I think my mission for the summer is to crack a 30K NM at Pinnaroo.  After today I'm believe it's do-able, just need 25K and the balls to keep charging Tongue out

My hour.  Needed a few more in and outs at the end to lift the average.  The ruler is 1.25 NM.

My first sail since becoming a dad, so it was fitting that my dad joined me for a cruise at Melville. Credit to Jemma for letting me leave the house.

Pretty consistent wind for Melville. Very enjoyable!

Mettams to Sorrento, had an "Andrew Symonds" moment and ignored the cricket game in progress Smile

Quick sail as discovered a tear in the tendon in my mast base so took it pretty easy most of the time.

5m Ezzy wave, Kombat 79 - perfect most of the time.

Great going on the Pinarroo's. 54 kms. Couldn't even get it going last time there.

Well done on the PB Snake. What happend to the board?  Trying to imagine how would a spill make a hole at the  bottom...

Good to see you out there today Pointman, that is an absolutely smoking hour for Pinaroo!

I'm having trouble recalibrating my sail size calculator.  The 5.2 that I thought would be just about enough turned out to be a fair bit too much for me... could have done with my 4.5 today out there, but too lazy to come in and change down.  No GPS though, so no track.  And I got a tack on my waveboard!!  Yeah Smile

Hey Lao shi,

How fast was the kiter relative to you?  Most kiters I've seen haven't been trying to go fast...

Hey Obelix , Sweeeet full house of PB's ! Cool In regards to the board I came off a speed run at around 33kn, big stack and must have got caught up in the rig somehow..not sure really as the rig ended up a small swim away. When i got over to it...well it was messed up good and proper..My guess is the harness bar did it, although it did feel like my left ass cheek ripped off during the crash so maybe it was that Surprised

Nebbs we were pretty well matched for speed although I was a bit smug when he crashed on the first run.Tongue out

Hard to compare as we were dodging other kites and I was having to pinch in to the run to be upwind of him. Good fun though.

Snake give Hoop a call for repairs.  Hope the arse recovers soon!

Nice Alpha Snake, sorry to hear about the carnage.

How was the wind down south today?  Absolutely honking at Pinnaroo.

Thanks Nebs, fast hours are tough at Pinnaroo, cos it gets so rough.  I still reckon there's a 20K+ hour to be done there, just need the planets to align.

Thanks guys. Arie was born 12/10/10.

Elmo, look forward to catching up too. Can't wait to get back down for a weekend soon. I just need to be careful not to disappoint Arie as he'll probably expect to meet the smaller and fluffier version of Elmo...
