Leighton, good to see so many out today. reflex 7.8 rrd 112 mfc weedy 40. Great fun drag racing with everyone, only did two real nm attempts early on. the 2nd was the fastest with Jesper. He must have gone close to the 30 knt nm.

Brand Spankin' New 6.5M T4 Tushy & the trusty old Exocet 94lt Cross & Select 29cm Fin.Tongue outCool

Was so anxious to try my new toy that I didn't bother to adjust my extension & also needed to tweak my harness lines - but you know how it is.Wink

I had gone out the back to do a good NM but took a while to get planing so I knew I needed to gybe & go back out. I was so determined I actually pulled off an Alpha PB & I am stoked.Laughing

I have had my data verified by the Captain Wink

Leighton Beach for the "NM challenge"

Xfire 102, KArace 7.1, Rockit 30, CTM

So nice to sail in the ocean,, Good turn out,,

First I thought my fin was to small, but it kind of worked OK.

Happy with the NM, as it was really choppy on the outside

Well done Annie, the new toy works then.

Jesper- what is your goal NM speed in the ocean? I have to say, clocking 30 plus is impressive- I'd be happy with that in the river!!

Steve- you did some Ks today!!

I thought you would have the 30 plus nm. That was definitely moving out there, I'll bring the beers next time.

Nice jibe there Annie :)

Jay: Not sure. Would say 32kts is possible with a bit more wind?, but I guess there is a limited where it gets too choppy and it slows you down. I got my PB 34.17 kts Nm in the middle of the river in a winter storm, and that was really choppy.

NM is a great indicator for the performance of the gear and yourself, as you have to go full power for so long. Balanced and easy gear will get you there and a bit of sailing fitness.

Also how close the 2sec speed is to the overall NM speed , is a good indicator how consistent you are.

Congratulations Jesper!

You are the first person (as far as I know) to crack the 30 NM in the ocean, in Perth.

Great stuff, and that goes some way to explaining how you won those LOCs!

That's really impressive - good on ya!

Great sailing Darryl too - so close to the magic 30!

Great NM Jesper (and Darryl too)... that's awesome, let alone for the ocean!

Wog...more PB's...well dne mate...nice consistent speeds there and over 60 km to boot.

Jay...yeah was surprised by the distance...may explain my sore hands!

Nilss...yep, I was happy with the speeds yesterday considering the inconsisitent breeze with the 7.0 up.

BBQ would be great except I'll be at Rotto Sun to Wed...have fun!
