Rigged 6.6m sail, after 50m decided to go back and downsize. Managed to put a tear in it by the time I got back to the car.
Rigged the 5.1, after 50m the brand new mast (Unifibre 4.3m 30% carbon) snapped. It snapped in a stack no worse than the hundreds of others I've had.
Went back to the car & rigged the sail on a 4.6m. Finally got going and had an absolute blast, struggled a bit not to get airborne and kept frightening the bejesus out of myself when the board launched off waves I couldn't avoid. A bit too crazy to go fast or far, but I was pretty happy to manage a few runs in the high winds without wrecking any more gear!

Made the trip to Port Sorell on a good forecast as i had a day off. Wind was very up and down and as Izaak said very square, nice weather though and the water was so clear. Port Sorell is such a nice place!
Good to catch up with the Port Sorell guys.

Wow what a blast! That was scary at times flying downwind in the big gusts, nearly went over the handlebars 3 times. Was just like skiing mogals but totally out of control. Was just too scared to go any more off the wind in the big gusts, I value my body parts too much!! Pity the tide was so low, poor fin got a few new scratches.

Good to be back on the water after a while. Ended up being a pretty good sail although the wind died out when i got my speed board and i was drifting out to sea so I had to de-rig in the water and swim about 500 meters to the shore..... then the wind picked up as soon as i got there so i rigged and managed to just get back.
Overal quite a good sail.
