The day started badly! i started rigging my 6.2 which got picked up by a gust and impaled on a pole......not pleased. Mark will relay my fine array of suitable swear words!

The wind then got up further and after much mooching around the carpark i rigged my 4.9 firefly and 86 isonic with the Lockwood 28!

Got a couple of screaming off the wind runs coming in towards the car park and saw 35.3 on the dial...my fastest ever and on a wavesail!

My Gps crapped out at half time but then the second session (the one recorded here) i must have topped my previous best and got a PB alpha.

Mark leant me the lurch for a spin but i never got a big enough gust for an improvement on the above.

Good to see JJ, Mark, John N and Daniel doing spocks!

Woah that was windy! Fun and punishment with a good crew at Wally World. Gusts hitting 37 knots at times, reminding all on the water who is boss...

Some great runs down the bar! My best speed was achieved when the wind first swung NW and I got a good gust running broad next to the bar before the waves picked up.

Had a 34.5 10 sec average on my very last run heading waaaaay too broad to avoid the bar in a 35 knot squall.

Great fun sail with a good turn out of Pinna's and a few others.

Nice and flat behind the island while the wind was NE but pretty gusty. Then the wind swung N and got a bit nuclear and choppy.

Didn't feel really comfortable today for good speeds - the run was very short and I was suffering a lot of spin out in the chop at the end.

Pretty sure Lao won the day with a very early run of 39 knots Cool

Norts, Chris and Jonah were flying too.

What a morning, overpowered and scared sh!tless, big thanks to Scarrgo for the rigging tips which made the sail more managable.

A decent number of crew out ,the chop made things interesting, had a few good stacks but after one butt clenching run decided to call it quits.

Got home to find the fence had blown over!!!

Great team turn out at wally world for one of the windiest days in a long time.

Rigged the Koncept 5m and went out for a run and it was good. Put some weight in the jacket and had one screaming gust behind the island (south side) for a 39.28! Fastest display speed for a long while and a Lurch PB. But it was heavily realspeeded as it was super peaky. Really short run.

Wind finally swung and went nuclear with smoky water and hanging on for grim death. Glad to survive unscathed

Chris looked really solid through the chop(well done on the 5x), JJ was having fin issues. Jonah was smoking! I think he should shout the Fbomb at the top of his lungs more often!

Well done on the Pbs. Great stuff on a wave sail!

Point Walter, WA, iS87, KAOS 4.7m, GW32

Fun day in pretty extreme conditions. Started with a 4.2m Manic 'cause I could. Tried my FSW rigged for speed but didn't feel right. Plugged in the iS with 25 Delta, felt better but under done. Rigged 4.7m and plugged in the trusty Goldwing. Should have stuck with the 4.2m, wind went ballisitc. Still, got my best runs of the day on this kit.

Trying to come back in was a challenge, sailing reallly broad alongside lao for a stretch but ditched it. The board and rig then cartwheeled spectacularly through the air resulting in  a bit of a swim. Called it a day after that.

Great to see so many Pinnas out, lao, Chris, JJ, Hardpole - and I parked beside Jonah but didn't introduce myself - hope your shoes are ok. Also nice to finally meet Norts.

Got to get myself a small race sail.

Excellent fun!

first of all i was sure i forgot my gps but now after getting home realised that it was just sitting on the passenger seat on my car Embarassed

anyway got down to point walter east for formula and thought bah it's not that wind and so i rigged the 7.0 and formula board (i wasn't stupid enough to rig the 10.0) snides showed up and in all seriousness said "i think i'll rig the 9.8" Surprised but he came to his senses much faster than me and rigged his 5.5 and 80

the wind came in balistic and on that note we packed up, i went home grabbed the wave board and 90 mistral and 5.0

got back down to melville just before chris took the picture in his post so i went for the wave board rather than the death wish called a slalom board in those conditions i got a couple of runs but then the wind crapped out so out of a full days effort i ended with about 30 minutes of sailing

hence i am grumpy

thanks to the formula guys that dropped into point walter and those that gave me a clear indication of their lack of bravery/stupidity (even i might admit now it was a bit stupid Undecided)

it really shows me that my efforts are worth while and gives me motivation to keep working towards summer racing

f2 maui project 70 ish, some crap old fin, 5.0 koncept

Congrats on the PBs Jonah - you seemed nice and settled through the choppy bits.

Bad luck with the sail - you turned that setback into PBs so not all bad.

Good one guys, well done on the PBs.

My GPS decided that my top speed was 3knot and I did a total of .47Km. In fact according to it I didnt leave the car park. Oh well my speeds were pretty ordinary anyway so nothing important lost (31.2 on the display I think). Nice to see so many out and just glad to have got home without any injury.  GPS had two files on the card, one 0 size and one 8k one. Looking at the times the one with data in it might have been when I came in to change boards. Last sail it split my sail into two files as well but I thought it looked like all the data was there.  Might try formatting the card just in case thats where the problems coming from - let me know if anyones got any other suggestions.

Hardpole - probably won't help but I always lock it once I've set it - press and hold the big button for a few seconds and it will beep and flash a "locked" message of some sort. Repeat to unlock. Saves any accidental pausing.

Well done on PBs Jonah. You guys did well in that stuff. No way was I risking life or limb with my 6.4 or my 5.8 SurprisedLaughing

Plus am still on wife nursing duties, so cant really risk much at moment.

Harpole, the session will be on your GPS, just download via NavI link.

Not sure if you have an 11 or a 31, but ensure the card size is set to "card size" and nothing else.

I was wondering what happened to you Sean, and the formula racing.

Formula boards would have been waaaay too dangerous today, glad you called it off.
