epic day of wind. Totally unseasonal for a winter front to come through this strong at this time of the year.

5.0m e5, Mistral 41, KA20 asy.

long day at the rsoles. Broke bottom batten in the middle after 2 runs when Istacked a gybe. Sailed it like that with a big kink for the rest of the day. Didnt seem to matter!

Got some nice gusts. WA PB and 2nd fastest peak with 49.09 on the dial... yeeeehar! Best 10 sec 46.38, 500m was 43.156 Stoked!

Crasher and stringer were there when I got there with Norts. Some good numbers guys! Tom showed up a bit later and was still banging out runs when I left, as stoppo was turning up. Hope they got some good runs in too.

Saw Norts take a big one. He was going wide and looked dangerously out of control and then the inevitable happened. Big crash. It seemed to warp the space time fabric. He emerged some time later from the spray ball as a ragdoll... tomski to the rescue with his board, then crasher rescued his gear. Hope John is OK...

Finally got hold of my sd card and computer.lost almost a knt from displayFrownbut stillSmile,it was a real  eye opener, serious wind and flatish water are not something Iv'e ever experienced before, whilst going fast in these conditions is relatively easy if you're prepared to sheet in and bear away, there are consequeces if you get it wrong! Tunning  and experience which means sailing those conditions more often would help.I've been bitten in more ways than one and will definatley be back for more(of the good part) with that little experience under the belt.

cheers guys. About time WA got some epic conditions. Looking at my tracks the run is actually quite short in that wind direction. Was hitting max speed about 200m from turning the corner, with another 50-100m before the run ends when it gets too broad due to the curved bank, and the gusts dont last that long. So top speed is limited by accelleration, and running out of runway... You can keep going but if theres wind on the good part of the run, there almost certainly isnt by the time you go another 100m. I sailed into a 12kt lull at 47kts on one run... very strange experience indeed. Lucky not to crash.
