Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Sailed with Mick and Rob. Had a prior committment so only had time for a real quick sail.

Weed clumps were everywhere which took the edge off it for me. Almost went over the handle bars a few times.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU NW some nice gusts but kept backing all the time 5/25 knts. thought i'd call it quits and packed up and took the wetty off when the wind swung to west and strengthened. There was no way I was putting my wet wetty back on so called it a day. Miller, Pugs, Huey and Frothsta Then Matty Larko and Rexy. They should go  good I reckon. Lake is pretty high so we were able to sail pretty much any where. Pretty choppy in parts with a couple of flatish sections. 6.6 Koncept 18 Delta 92 Jp Slalom. Go Marauders!!!!

Mark Hampton (6863km):

Queens Lake, NSW, AU

Hit the water at about 10am. Wind was only about 15 knots max then. Sailed around in gusty conditions.

Steve hit the water as it came in. I was overpowered with the 6.7m. Went in but to late for me to change to a 6m.

Sailing Club Guys in the rescue boat recorded gusts of 35 knots when I was out there.

ISonic 107, 6.7m, 31cm fin.

Mark J / Adam / Dion /Graeme & Stuart hit the water as I was coming in.

They all would have got great numbers on the smaller gear.

Mark J was hammering the Mud Bank. Looked awesome. He was flying!

Good to be sailing again.Hit our newer launch spot with Bill, Anton, Ella, Rob, Pete, Jason and Hamish who appeared a bit later in the session.A fun session with the sun shining and a WNW - W  wind at about 15-22k. Hawk 93 Finworks 11.5 6.0 GTX, then SL79 Vector 27 and the six GTX. Hoping for a bit more wind!

Wallis Lake, NSW, AU. Great day, great company. We needed this as been so long since last decent sail. We all have lost match fitness it seems as pretty short session. Looking forward to tomorro already.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU

Fanatic Slalom 79, KA Race 6.3, Vector Speed Weed 27

I should have taken a bigger sail, and a floaty board as I would have done a lot more sailing, instead of sitting and waiting for the bigger gusts as the 79 doesnt float me at all. The waiting paid off though, as the 3 or 4 gusts that I did get were really nice and put a smile on my dial. I havent sailed for 3.5 months, so i am glad i made the effort.

Wind swung from NW round to SW and then died in the arse just as i started to make my way home. A 94kg rider on a 79 litre slalom with no wind never ends well. Walked a shitload of distance through nasty stinky mud to get back to the car. Water got too deep so I started to do a self rescue in chest deep water and was about to paddle the rest of the way in, when the blokes from the Laurieton Sailing club came and gave me a lift back to the ramp. Thanks Chris my saviour, and the blokes who alerted Chris to my dilema.

Give it another go tomorrow hopefully.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU Had a great sail with the boys today. I was worn out by the end and it was a bit chilly when you got out of the water.

Great sail at Queens Lake with the guys. Good to finally get some decent wind. Wind was W-Nw 15 -25 knots. I thought i had a 2 sec pb as well , but i was looking at the garmin which obviously had a spike. Suprised with the nautical mile wasnt even trying. Overall a great way to start the westerly season.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - NW 20-30 knots. Got there after 1pm and wind looked good so rigged 6.5 V8 with the Carbon Art SL55 and 19cm MUF. Went out and it was Ok for 30-40 minutes but then it hammered in from the west at 30 knots which was a tad strong and it lifted me off the water and weathered veined me. Smack down! So I thought time to get out.

Had a chat with Larko and Rexy for a while onshore while we waited to see what was going to happen. After 15 minutes it settled down so we all went back out for a pretty nice session after all. Sailed with Milsy, Matty D (who had some bad luck with gear failure), Hugh and Greg F plus Jono from Pretty Beach.

Cheers Lads.

I had a bad day today, 3rd run and I had what happened moment! While lying in the sail thinking that I had broke a mast but the plastic base that connects to the mast extention had broken. Thanks to Johnny who went and got my spare otherwise it was a 2-3km walk! By the time I got going again the wind drop off and I was underpowered. Cabon art 100L freeride, 6.3m loft & 20cm Delta fin.

Mark J great Effort getting your 7,000 kms up!

Well Done Anton & Bill on your PB's.

Mark found a new spot today to Launch from at the end of Seltin Glen st.

Small Boat ramp with grass area to rig up on. Would easy to get to the mud bank from there! Cool

Would be easy to get to the mud bank with delta fin & speed Board.
