Tabou Rocket wide 108L, NP RSR E6 6.4m, JP weed 31cm

Liptons with Hardz and Yoyo, wind was supposed to be stronger but didn't look it so I used the rocket rather than the 54, taking of from the shore I should have gone back and changed to a 7.8 as the wind was lighter and gustier than it looked.

Tried a few Alphas over on Pt Grey but struggled on exits with the wafty breeze.

A few squirts in the corner afterwards gave a bit more respectable numbers, but overall the 7.8 would have been a far better option.

Great to sail with Hardz and Yoyo

Liptons very gusty.  On my drive home from Perth I stopped at Fangy's it looked moderately windy and choppy, then went to Liptons and it looked windier than Fangy's so went home got my gear, and sailed at Liptons.  However, Liptons was extremely gusty.  Yes its always windier at Liptons but much gustier.  The water was choppy as well, & I couldnt find a spot to try any alphas, with my leg I need it dead flat.  I think it needs a lot of south to be more steady winds, the more west the more gusty it is.  Better than working, and good fun to be with Elmo and YoYo.

Fangy's with more chop than Jackie Chan. Big bumpy session channeling my inner Elmo with Pas,Stroppo, Grumpynuts and later Shane,Bono and Max.

I have to go and sort out snotgobblers now so will post more later.

But a PB day is always a Top Ten Fangy day.Laughing

When I pulled up at Fangys at lunch time Stroppo and Grumpynuts were already there. Because there is conveniently located a park bench the two of them had taken up residence. Stroppo is a little 'Chair shy' these days and prefers a chair that is bolted into a concrete slab. For those of you who were asleep, recently Stroppo has being having trouble with his Nanna chair mysteriously climbing trees or playing hide and seek.

Grumpynuts was reading  "Dummies Guide to Parenting-Chapter 12- Help! My child is a chair thief!",  whilst Stroppo had put down the crochet needles in order to eat enough cake to keep a small African nation on a sugar high for a fortnight.

There was a big tide surge and with the long weed pretty much all gone there was nothing to take out the chop. I decided that the F2 waterlog Koncept 6.6 and Delta 21 would be the call. I was strongly contemplating just using a normal weedy as the depth was such that it would have been a viable option over most of the run.

I hit the drink and went to check out the run. It was choppy for Fangyland just about everywhere. The Boundary Island weed bank has gone too. So as a result I crossed off the speed run for the day and just settled into a fun session of mucking around in the chop. I didn't have any real plan in mind, but I was surprised when my inner Elmo was running amok out in the chop. At one stage I ended up over in South Yunderup. There was some pretty good flattish water there but I didn't feel brave enough to stay there by myself . Already I could hear the lecture from Grandma Dorothy ringing in my ears should I break something and get stranded.

So I worked my way back over to the north side of the estuary and just sailed and did some filming.(I will post some video later) The wind seemed pretty good and consistent enough, improving as the day went on. And i just got into a bit of a zone and kept sailing...

120 klicks later the chop had bounced my legs to the point they were complaining and in turn the rest of me started to whinge as well. I called an end to a very satisfying day, indeed a Top Ten Fangy day. :-)

Congratulations on the PB Fangy.

Just a few things:

1. Never, ever, ever, ever give Grumpy a new item. I would like to use it just once prior to it's destruction.

2. Do not inform my boss that it's windy and he should let me go home early. I then can not suddenly become ill during the day and go home.

Thank you.

Evets, I have never been asked that before, it's usually the opposite-"Fangy, how low can you go?" Oh and you will now sleep easier - I replaced the racing slicks and got new tyes on the chariot today :-)

OK Fangy....thanks for the gybing tip....but I can already do that much..incomplete gybes are, after all, something of a speciality of mine (I have recently put in an international patent on my celebrated "crash and splash gybe". To further my learning I, Grasshopper, need the complete and unexpurgated version of your completed turns. By the way, were you eating biscuits during your commentary or had you just arrived, numb, from a dental appointment? Bit muffled...so unless you can get the top of your head nearer your mouth (?) I'll get you a boom mike :-)    All in all, a very prefessional presentation. Loved it but making me rather sad....no sailing here.
