Just went for alphas today, i wanted to see whether I could get the mistral to gybe which is a much faster board than my Manta 54, I got 4 over 26kts so gotta be happy with that (secretly I wanted a pb today) Mistral Speed 95, TR9 6.3m, Delta 20/55, then changed to Pepeweed 22/48, which was instantly faster without spinning out all the time.  Good to share it with Paul, be interesting to see how he went?

Novara Beach, WA, AU. F2 B&J 85L, 5.8 Wave sail, 21 cm Delta.

Pretty windy session with what I think a reasonable amount of southerly.

Did a little bit of gardening when I ended up on the downwind side of the marker but no lasting damage.

SSW 14-20 knots, FF111, Loft Blade 7m, C3 Sting2 38cm.

Overcast day with a crowd of people:-) Gareth, Leon, Geoff, Chris, Sam (thanks for some port which yes did "smooth the water":-), Carl,Chris D, and plenty more.

Started with iffy wind then kicked in. Good setup for gusty conditions and thought I'd have nailed a 22 knot hour on my first session as only x2 non planing gybes. So close!

Enjoyed the day:-)

SafetyBay - Kitesmare city!!

Great time, to catch up with Craig and Jake. Cool

Took me 1 hr to decide to sail or not this very dangerous place!! powered enough in the pond on the 5.4 i used for the first time a shorter but safer line, with emergency exit. Sailed high, with the kites, means they high jumps landing are below me! That pissed them off, fine with me!

This spot is just too dangerous, too many unexperienced kiters, so much traffic... what the pitty Cry

Quickly too shallow on the bar we moved to Pengos line

Sonic85, RSR5.4, LWS23

Great job on the Alphas guys Cool.. (happy for you Hards you got the hang of her) PJ good to see you are sailing a bit Wink

Fun Saturday session. Thanks so much to Hardie for the introduction to Alphaville. Certainly big in Japan. Watching the alpha master at work was an inspiration to try harder. Certainly be back again to try out different gear. Hope that score helps.

Nice alpha Hardie. Is that a new board you have?

Thanx Steve, yes I swaped it for my Nude 46, was just finding it too diificult to sail a 63 Litre board, at 95kilos and 55 years of age with slowing reflexes.  The M95 is far more versatile and user friendly, just wont be as fast as the N46 in those rare perfect conditions, but now I just want to sail as much as I can, and as easily as I can.

Great stuff Joe and Paul!!! That eases my conscience over defecting for the day.

Dot and I wanted to see the opening festival concert, and I wanted to play alphas with hardie, so that was 2 for the concert and 1 for alpha land.

Glad we went, the concert was fantastic, loads of great and legendary WA talent, fantastic sound system and set, possible better than the Giants last year.

Well done on the corners crew.

Mike I was up there with you as we wennt and saw the "Limbo" show at the Spiegletent yet another great show although the performers on the bendy poles flying over the crowd is not good for a windsurfer who has sufered the occasional mast breakage, especialy when the pole flexs over far enough so that you can touch it without getting of your seat.

The entertainment for the Perth Fringe festival is top motch, having seen 4 shows in the past 3 weeks I'd thoroughly recommend it, the enttertainment at the new Elizebeth Quays is good although the cobble stones leave a bit to be desired
