Melville - IS107, CR7.7, CF40 - Lovely winter sunny day till the rain came and stopped the wind dead.  Lots of sailors at Melville but never felt crowded.  First time I managed to sail from Lucky Bay to the Como which was very enjoyable.

Melville Beach, WA, AU. 7.5 Koncept, 133L Techno, 38 Select and 44 Canefire. Once again when I should have been studying the wind came and it was time to sail, the best excuse. I though I was going to be the only P-roo down at Melville but Lunny had a change of heart and had decided to join me. Wind looked stronger than pridicted when first arrrived I was still tossing up the 8.6 incase it dropped out, but I had not tried out the 7.5 Koncept that i bought from Hooksey so went with the latter. Winds were gusty with holes, the usual winter deal, but it was consistent enough to just use the one sail. The wind eventually dopped slightly so change to a larger fin, seemed to do the trick. The wind finally dropped below planing conditions and I was happy to call it a day. Found Tim and Shaw had been out als and that Jeff was about somewhere but did not see him. Well I can say i am pooped! It was not easy trying to maintain planing the whole time with the holes. Great fun in the winter sun!

Planned on heading to Safety Bay but changed my mind on the way. Glad i did as the wind direction didnt change as predicted and there was a good crowd on the river. Wind was typically on and off as winter delivers and i didnt feel comfortable today but looking at the wind observations its no wonder. Gread to see Vince having a good crack at some distance, I'm feeling your pain buddy. Good Pinnas turnoutSmile

Joyful sail for this time of year. Surprisingly consistent for a) Melville and b) frontal wind. Nice to catch up with the usuals who I see too little these days. Adjustable outhaul is awesome!

Melville, rigged the 6.6 thinking that after last week I wanted to be underpowered (stupid thing to say really), tried it with the 112 Mistral and 121l iSonic and then rigged the 7.3. That was better! Really enjoyed the mixture of slow gybes and displacement sailing with actual powered up planing. All good fun. the wind switched off suddenly after a pleasant stinging rain so I plodded back to the point (as I was heading that way at the time), then uphauled and plodded back to the carpark. decided it was going to be faster to just wade there, so did that. A top 10 day !

Nice to see others out, and I think the fact we were all on the water not chatting in the car park says a lot about today.

Didn't break anything today - tick. A short but fun session. On the water after 2pm for a quick squirt. Body felt ok as I dusted of some cobwebs. Good to see a few Pinas filling up the carpark, which was quite full. Had  a chance to give the newly acquisitioned board a go. No fine tuning but felt good, probably abit undersize for today's conditions but was on the plane for most of the time. A small equipment malfunction when the boom clamp undid itself as a front came through was challenging. Decided to head back in to fix problem and change down fins which coincided with the wind shutdown - timed to perfection. Called it a day.

Thanks Lunny! You were out before me and you were still sailing as I left! You better be tired hahaha. Good stuff! Sounds like you had some really good long runs Shaw! I liked your smile as you were telling us about flying past majestic point X metres from the shore.

Nice work on the distance guys! That's good going for winter and not much practice to keep the muscles in shape.

Congrats on the PB Vince! Top effort. You will feel like just sitting down and studying now.

Great stuff, Vince! Cool Any day you're pushing Lunny for distance is a good day. Chris, that's a solid hour effort given the peak speed was quite low - good to see someone taking up the challenge!
