Lilacs Albany, 1st comp was the Hour against Cam, and he totally destroyed meYell, I just couldn't hold on in those winds with a 6.3m going across the windEmbarassed, my second comp was aginst Strop on the 2 sec and 5 x10 and he destroyed meYell, My thrid comp was against Elmo on the alpha, and his gybes looked heaps better than mine, so therefore another destructionYell, My next comp was against Decrepit on the NMile, and he totally destroyed meYell, one of my biggest destructions in windsurfingEmbarassed, But worst of all Cam beat me to the 27kt Alpha ClubYellEmbarassedCry

wish I'd stayed home in MandurahWink

Fave gear as always Mistral Speed 95, MS TR9 6.3m, and Pepeweed 22/48 now only 20cm after grounding another 1cm off it todayCry

Lilacs, Albany, WA, AU

Koncept 6.2 & 5.4 RIPped, Sonice 56w + Delta 19, CA44 + Delta 17

A good crew out with Mike & Elmo also joining us for a sail ths time. Wind looked promising & when I saw Stroppo had a 6.0m on I thought maybe the 5.4 would be best to start with. A few runs adjusting harness lines & then thought I'd try a gybe, muffed it & when I came up saw I had put a hole in the panel at the tack Cry Only the 2nd time I had used it Cry Cry Cry

Only choice was to go the 6.2 Surprised Flattened it out a bit & out for another go, as this was the last sail I had with me opted to not bother with the gybes. Was initially overpowered in the gusts but got a decent NM in & it felt like the breeze had moderated not increased as forecast. Decided to have a try on the CA44 & as soon as plugged it in the wind dropped Yell

Feels like I missed an opportunity to get better speeds but it was still way more fun than working!

Many thanks to both Mike & Stroppo who very kindly offererd to take the sail back to Perth for repairs, cheers fellas Smile

Great fun session at Lilacs. With lots of good company!!!!!!!!!!! Got there early and went out before lunch on the 48, 5.8 and the newly half modified 20cm 40/55deg weedy. Got 34s with this, even in very rough form, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes when properly leaned up. Not the ideal fin for lilacs though, weed here is just too thick, making it hard to get into the smooth and get out again. Wind was slowly picking up so cam in and changed to the 18cm starboard 50deg assy. runs started to get faster until I hit 37 on a NM attempt, decided it was time for lunch, and to see if I needed to change down afterwards. changed to the 43cm board hoping to go faster, but I never did, think the wind had dropped a tad. should have stayed out instead of coming in. Wind then slowly dropped off more, so I changed back to the 48 and tried some alphas, the results of which I don't know yet. Because I can only find realspeed on this laptop, (there's 3 operating systems on it), and RS doesn't do 5hz alphas. I'll have another look for GPSResults, I was sure it was on here somewhere, ans see if I can check the alpha, if not it will have to wait for tomorrow. 5x10 also looks wrong, it should be a 35 more checking required.

OK had to install GPSResults in windows, now changed results to what that says.

Will check the watch tomorrow when we get home, these are from the GW52

So already it's tomorrow!

And as promised here's what the watch says-----------

2s 37.046, 5x10 35.656, 1hr 15.082, @ 25.441, NM 32.734, dist 104.482

Just checked, and both the alpha and 5x10 are top 5s, and I have a feeling that it's only the 2nd time I've hit 37kts on the 48cm board.

Here's my gpsvisualizer tracks.

lilacs tracks 4 jan

As you can see there's fast spots all over the place, in the morning I had good wind along the NM run, but in the arvo it went slightly more north and the best wind was closer to the beach on the opposite tack. Not much good to me with a starboard assy, I was doing similar speeds both ways.

Tabou Manta 54, NP RSR E6 6.4m, Elmo Weed 50º 20cm

Albany Liliacs

Well that was disapointing, I farked up! Rigged based on the the propesed forecast and peoples advice and was underdone most of the time.

Went to do a naughty spent forever trying to get high enough up the sandbar to launch only to find the the wind was dropping out near the sand bar.

Eventually after much procrastination chatting with Mr Daff went on my first attempt only to get a couple of hunder metres before the wind dropped out, after much frustration trying to get going eventually got back to the sand bar, didn't bother walking back up to the start when there was finally enough wind went again only to find that there was again bugger all wind so standing upright and 3 waterstarts later eventually got down to the bottom corner.

discovered there was lots more wind closer in shore (go figure) so went for some alphas, a bit disappointed with the results as I felt there was a few good ones there.

Tried a few runs and couldn't get any gusts going.

Oh well, thankfully I had a ripper day out with my chicky beforehand now for some lefty curry

Re calculated with Realspeed my standard software, some up mostly down

So glad I took my Muppet Voodoo doll on holidays, its working a treat.

Smokin Joe don't be hard on yourself, that's my job.Foot in mouth (but seems hard to do with those numbers - nice session :-)

Mortician that is a brilliant nauti! congrats man! And Shane great to see the local knowledge paying off with a great U Turn. ( Dont worry about the waterlog, Wazza installed a pool on my big board last year and its still fine...as an ornament)

Nice pb's Shane and Mortz. Super numbers Skipper and another 40 for Hardz....bit of a habit methinks! Shane, Fangy is correct in that I did indeed attempt to arrange a water feature on Fangy's QE2 cuppla years back but, as usual, I failed. Wazzapoorsaboteur.
