Pretty light wind day that very slowly filled in. Best was last 30 mins when I was about gassed! Hit x4 carp and luckily all glancing blows. Sam, Geoff, Leon, Mike all tried their hand at a sail but to light for their chosen rigs:-\

Great fun sail with Morts, BSN101 and Shane. Welcome to Albany DaveSmile.

Was a pretty good session, thought I would do some alphas and swap to the M91 for the hour but decided to just go for the hour. Arms feeling a bit tired as this is the third day of sailing in 6 days ( getting soft and old). Was only fully powered for about 10 minutes so hour was ok but not as good as I had hoped. It was still my second fastest hour and therefore 3rd entry into my top 5s for 2017. Quite a good start to the year!

Just did 2 NM runs, neither was well powered but 3 more would have helped my 5x however I am out of energy.

I need to look at my alphas,I suspect I had some better ones just too wide.

It felt so strange at first gybing the 7.0 having had so much fun with the 5.4 only 2 days earlier. Anyway not a bad start to the year.

Morts was having a good go at the hour so I hope to see good things there.

Albany, WA, AU Harding rd . JP 55 slalom speed , NP evo 5 6.4 , delta 19 speed , I didn't think I was going to get a sail in today but the gods shone down upon me and set the chipper on fire in the plantation.  So I saw this as a sign, and headed to the water. Great way to spend the afternoon sailing with Steve Morts and Dave Cool

Koncept 6.2, Sonic 56w + Delta 19, CA44 Tribal S/weed 23

Great sail with usual suspects Shane & Steve & a guest BSN101 (Dave) from One More Knot.

Main aim today was to have a crack at an hour as there was just enough tide to go right into the town end with the Delta. Went out & did a NM (thanks for that tip Steve & Stroppo) & then straight into it, nearly dropped my 2nd gybe which wasn't a great start Embarassed Thankfully that was the worst gybe of the hour & I'm pretty happy with the result.

Didn't drop a gybe until a Kiter decided to do a jump about 30m in front of me & 10m upwind, unprepared hurried gybe resulted in a mini Elmo except I couldn't do a skimming stone impersonation. After being do unsociable to our guest Dave I took him up the top for a NM with Steve also joining us. Stuffed it up a bit by going a bit low & staying in the slight chop. Think Dave enjoyed it as he was like I wanna do that again!!! His huge grin was a highlight of the day.

Decided to go & give the CA a bit of a run, used the Tribal for the first time. Thanks Stroppo for telling me how to shim up the trailing edge to get a better fit Smile Was starting feel the effect of the hour by now & the tide had dropped a bit so did drag it a few times but did go & have another crack at a NM which resulted in the 32. Only did a few runs before calling it a day as I was getting a bit pooped.

Have had 3 great sails with great company in the last 5 days, tired but very happy Smile

Looking forward to seeing Dave's numbers!

Elmo the hour was fairly easy, just the effects of too much sailing in the last few days and not enough fitness now catching up with my body. Oh and Morts destroyed me in the hour. And NM. I have been put in my place!

Woohoo Shane another PB on the JP, awesome!

Steve very good hour considering you were Gybing at about the carpark. Nice Naughty for someone who was underpowered!

PJ that's a fair distance to do with such a large rig I wouldn't be able to hold it up!

Wazza they tell me the secret is to just keep nudging your PB's up by a little bit at a time, kind of stuffed it now on the hour.

Morts I prob should have left the Delta in. You proved it was faster over the long run. And I think you sailed better. As you are chasing ( or leading) me so hard I am going to seek some secret weapons!

Captain D I Am pleased with the hours. It would be nice to give the nms a boost before the end of the month. We shall see. Looks like some good forecasts for liptons Sunday Monday. I may try to get there after work Monday for a brief evening blast.

Fangy you have proven you can do mid thirty nms so just say which day. Actually I am astounded at what you can get a 310 fun board to do so nothing surprises me anymore.

+1 on the carp PJ.  Steve if its windy enough, I will ge having a crack whenever there is enough breeze. Tugger put me on to PredictWind.com. This is my table for here

https://forecast.predictwind.com/table/

So far, they have been remarkably accurate with the forecast for here. Once you have created a free account; the output table gives you four forecast models, essentially you can compare each model and the closer they are the more confidence you can have in the forecast

Fangy, while you're trying for a mid-30nm and everyone else is after huge numbers as well, I'll do the Gold Coast thing and have a double shot, decaf, skinny gybaccino with a picture of an over the handlebars in the froth on the top as a reminder of my real world. Take it as my  MM contribution for January.

Wazzadreaming, a half double decaffeinated half decaf with a twist of lemon is your drink. Now move along, no real world here🤡

2017 is shaping up to be a good year. Hope the Albany easterlies continue for the next couple of months as the tides fill in and improve the NM and alpha, and hour locations. Add to that some great sea breezes at Liptons and it is turning out to be a great WA new year
