Had no plans to sail today, but then it got really windy so I had no choice. RS3 with favourite "Black Pointer" and 6.3m. Fully powered at first then armchair.
Such a great angle for Coalie, straight across to the islands so easy to take rests. Had the entire lake to myself, warm, sunny, windy, simply fantastic...

89ltre RS2 - 6m OD - 33 makani weedie
79ltre FF - 28cms maui ultra weedie
Didn't want to sail Buff until the hazard Andrew found is marked and not sure my ankle would handle 20-25kts on Lake Mac so Canton.
Good sail!
1st hr wasn't great . I rigged the RS2 with the 6m as it is was a bit patchy up the top and its usually a lot more comfy in chop than the falcon. Basically just did nms..Got the nm on my first run which is surprising as the Rs felt well..RS..I think the 33cm fin may have been picking up weed as the board was dragging and rig felt heavy and my back leg was screaming!
Didn't do many gybes as I was too stuffed and overpowered down the bottom end especially with the heavy feel of the gear.Felt good coming back..??
I didn't realise it at the time but I also had heart palpitations which gave a heavy feeling to my head and chest and sapped energy.Decided to change to the falcon.
Wow! I must have improved or maybe just nice to have a decent fin as the 79 falcon was perfect and ate the small bumpy chop. I only realised there was a flatter area out near the breakers on the last run and got the 2 sec there. Didn't really do any bearaways.Feeling pretty crappy from palps for about an hr after but I've come good now.
Good wind angle.Bruce arrived but it had died to a patchy 10-15kts.
I can recommend the local cafe's beer battered chips..they were so good I braved the predatory mob of gulls waiting for a feed and bought the leftovers home for tea.
Well stats are average but I loved having some nice long runs for once. Just Gareth , me and one other guy. 2 kiters later - one lost his board and I got it for him.

WHat a pleasant day sailing this was! Arrived to Buffie with Akos...of course without any booms or gps watches..my usual trick...
How lucky l am surrounded with real nice guys like Steve Lyds, Greg Kiskarpati and Cluffy who lent me the neccessary gear for us to go out and have a real good time. Akos took the new isonic 97 with a 7m and a 19cm delta. l took a 6.2 severne race, a fanatic 51 with a 17 delta.
Shame that Akos didnt get a gps for recording. I at least and luckily got one from Greg. He could have possibly improved his 2sec pb.

Falcon 90 R4 7.0 delta 19
Really nice to get going on the Falcon 90 a few times bring on some feral south westerlies. I had one of the weirdest gybes ever today. I was doing really wide ones due to the depth but gave it a bit to much rail and the delta let go. A few moments later it grabs hold again so ok fine carry on gybing. Then it lets go again but hang on a few moments later it grabs hold a second time so back to your places eveyone carry on gybing still managed a smooth transition and planed out of the exit lol.
P.S. KA 72 robbed me a full 2 knots off my alpha and I'm getting kinda tired of it. Is there any other alternatives that actually agrees with my GW52 and GPSresults software sometimes?

Took the wrong turnoff from the F3 & ended up at canton so stayed there as the wind was forecaST TO DIE.
sUE WAS LEAVING AS i ARRIVED, mIKE CAME AFTER i STARTED. iT WAS SO STRONG i WAS HANGING ON & GETTING LONGER ARMS. Came in & chatted with Mike as he rigged & it dropped a bit while I was in, thank God for that as it became quite nice with the water not too tough & beautiful runs on the edge of the rough water. RS3, 7.7, 32 fin.
