Nice to be on the water in the sun GAF wind 0-15kts, thrasehd by Shane, well done mate you looked to be far better out there today than I ever felt.
Young Fergus out again, year 8 school lad doing extremely well in the off/on wind. Air was warm, water getting cold.
What a contrast to summmer, I though I would put a mention in here for Anita. In summer I have sailed for 3 hours and blown 1 gybe. Today I fell off more than half the time. The summer conditions are flattering for alphas and hours.

What a day,.. wind a bit up & down. I had a board I wanted to tryout, to see if it needed some fixing to get it going, as it had been
thrown out. Had three boards with me, and got to go out on all of them, like I said, wind was up n down.
And yes it was fun to get out for a sail again, boards were the junk47, sonic78 and xmuffn 42, with hot5.8 and el50/20cm weed.

2545 days ago Well that worked out better than I expected at 0900 this morning, looked like wind wasn't going to get into Boombas, but I've been dying to get back in there since Gav helped us put the markers in last year.
So took a gamble and drove over, when I got the The Fin and Roger were rigging. I measure 13kts average and 16 knt gusts just 2 knots less tha I got at Avalon before I left.
Rigged the 6.6 and used the 53 with the 29cm 45deg weedy.
Roger suggested hours would be a good idea, couldn't see us achieving much else so we gave it a try.
Thanks Roger, good to have a young on the ball mind around!
Johnski and Gav appeared on the water
Wind lasted nicely for my hour then died, so had lunch, then we had another spurt, tried a NM gybed and wind died again, had to grovel all the way back. Everybody was thinking of packing up, Gav actually changed into his clothes, the the wind came back with a bang! With more west in it. Still fairlly flat, but I was too overpowered, with a bagged out sail, to do much with it. By the time I'd tightened the sail the wind had dropped a bit. Stayed fairly close to base, didn't want to be 6kms downwind with no wind!
Just counted, 6 gybes to the hour, min speed on the straight 13kts, so I came close to dropping off the plane a couple of times in the hour, luckily there was just enough to keep going, until the next gust came.
Watch results.
2s 29.972, 5x10 28.650, 1hr 19.535, @ 19.729, NM 25.393, distance, (77.13), is short because I forgot to turn watch back on after the 2nd break

First time at boombas, what a fantastic place. Should have rigged the 7.8 to start with and that would have been ok for most of the day but managed to keep planing most of the time with the 7 anyway. after a long windless lunch the wind finaly came back and blew pretty hard for a few minutes then backed off a bit for a really enjoyable last hour with the 7m and the 100 slalom.
