Ugly day @ the lake with big squalls lots of rain, then not much. Very on off.

Tried for a nm in one of the big squalls & got 33.864 500m but got lifted and slammed as the wind gusted high into the 20's

Is 107, M1 7m & 36

Great to catch up with everyone at the Train today. Sailing up and especially back is hard work at the moment with the carpark closed. I tried a couple different fins today but got all my best numbers on the SL1. Loving this fin!Cool Some punchy gusts today but you had to be lucky to get one at the right time.

Thanks guys and Macro for the analysis.Cool

My GW60 showed I got down to 14.4knots and 26knots even on the alpha. It showed 25.99 on the screen of the watch. My GT is showing a better alpha about every 3rd time I sail than the GW60.

Nice turns!

The GT31 data are heavily filtered, which affects the minimum speed it shows in turns. The minimum speed it shows is more like the average speed over 2 seconds.

The GW60 at 5 Hz will capture the real minimum speed much better, but the points often are off by about 0.5 knots from random errors, so there's a pretty good change that the minimum will be 0.5 knots too low, or even a full knot. Plus the GW60 usually measures the speed at your hand, which tends to move a lot during the jibe. So the true minimum speed is probably somewhere in the 15.x knot range, which is still darn good.

Fantastic sailing Ezza! Is that SL1 a carbon job?

Hey Dezza, yes its a carbon fin, I picked it up used on SB. It is very high aspect, narrow and thin. I thought it would be a bit light on for me but it has so much lift and drive for its size, I was shocked. My new favorite.Cool

Ta Ezza, sounds the bizness, I’ve got one in my fin bag not really tried it much, will go and find some deep water without weed to give it a whirl, of course the Mach 1 is an essential ingredient

Yes loving the Mach 1! It is really forgiving when overpowered.

If you don't like that fin let me know.Wink
