Had some mega wind come through to get some 40s. Rigged 5.4 with 49 iSonic and felt sturdy through the squalls.

A fun early session with Ant, Kai and Rob. Some big gusts and reasonably flat in the bottom corner. Hopefully snickers and Ant got some good runs as I left. MarkOz52 evo12 5.8 wp22

Got up early to go to coods but looking at the tide, storm surge, and forecast for it to swing SW early decided to can it. Boz feeding the live reports through the morning.
We ended up checking out Woodmans point. No kiters for once and it was honking... except for the N in the swell ruining the run. Choppy as so we decided just to go to Melville...
aaaaah Melville. High tide. Huge gusts and huge holes with nothing in between. Rather than sinking I put the 128 on with 6.2m and 35 MK3. Squalls were brutal- hitting high 30s at times and the chop- mostly oversized and brutal was all over the place due to the big wind angle changes. I did find one "normal" gust where the chop wasn't so bad to get my fastest peak... it felt pretty easy given I wasn't fully gased. But the rest of the gusts were full on, and being so strong it made the chop much bigger. Was good to get overpowered again.
Glad I used the big board . Good to see Craig give it a go on his 7m (getting slammmmmed hard within a short distance of shore hehehe). Alex used the more sane 5.8m/102 combo but it was so gusty we all spent more time standing around than going. Yep really up there for on/off wind. Melville at its finest hahaha.
good fun!

First time feeling da Southern winter Power and it swallowed me whole and spat me out with possible broken ribs.
Thought I had it for a second but the power of 45 to 50 knts out of nowhere is not something you get here in summer on an easterly.
Was a box I wanted to tick and even though it taught me a lesson I’m glad I did it.
Great to be on da water with Dan. He had a red hot go and survived unscathed.
