Well that was horrible..

Too much for this old duck.

I spent 30 mins taking wind readings and was getting 10-20kts so I figured I'd rig the 80ltre and be underpowered. As soon as I hit the water it kicked in. I haven't used the Pepe much. It seems to need some speed before you press on it and I didn't trust it in the chop. ( mainly because I haven't used it much).

I did one bearaway and thought that's got to be 37kts... hah! 31kts plus?? Not worth the risk for that speed.

Dropped the 5m to the lower clewhole and tighten the outhaul which helped a bit.

I got slammed in the head really hard by the mast coming down on me as I stood in the shallows. It hurt a lot so thank goodness I had the helmet on.

I wasn't coping well with the sustained high heartrates so I didn't stay out long. I've got a bit of a headcold and haven't got my usual energy.

I was going to rig the 4.6m - 70ltre and 16.5cm FF ( holds better) but it kicked in another notch and I decided to give it a miss.

At least it wasn't cold.

I thought the good guys would score well.

Mike was going well, as was Bill on his freeride gear.

Mitch , Greg K , Mike , Lance, Bill and a few others.

Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer.

No worries Greg. I tried to give one to Byron but he was off stickers after peeling them all off his trailer He'll want one when he see's how fast you go with that.

Once again i copped a severe humbling by ballistic budgy. The wetty was on, i walked around carrying kit looking like a sailor for a few moments, then the evil gusts sent me back behind the van for another cup of tea.

Filming from Brandon lane was fun again, i’ll post it soon. I got a good yarn from old mate Dave who came out of his house to tell me the story about the weed and how he has been defending it guerrilla style, swimming in front of clearing machines etc to stop them for the past 7 years, that was interesting.

Never count on tomorrow becasue tomorrow doesn't come.
But damn if tommorow is on i'm giving it a hiding to redeem myslef.

Well done to all taking on today, amazing stuff. Sue you've got way less to be sorry about then me! Well done. We were keen to try again then that fiesty gust said no

Video. The only good enough reason i could come up with to not go out and be an extreme sailor, was to film the extreme sailors
It appears i've filmed in a lull, they make it lok easy. It's probably too far away for the lens and i probably need a better tripod, but it's something, hope ya'll enjoy Budgy cam from today.
