Point Grey, WA, AU. Bonus sail in boardies! Hard to believe it was close to zero last few weeks and 27degC today.  Nearly had to let some pressure out of the tyres on the drive down it was so hot.   Late to the party with a big turn out of the normal characters and a few more.  On arrival others were calling it saying wind had dropped out, can't get going on 6.3 etc etc...forecast was good (not that its ever right) so rigged 5.7 and went with the bigger board.  Boz did warn me I'd get hammered as I headed out.     Tide was near optimal, sun out, good crowd,  warm and wind!  Usually at least one of those variables is missing.   Bammm!   Wind kicked in and was spin out city so change to smaller board.  Seriously overpowered so back in to change to smallest sail.  Even that was still plenty.  Was going to head over to Austin bay to find some better flats but couldn't see danger mouse Dan or anyone else playing there. With the wind above my pay grade decided to stick where others could pick up the pieces.  Wind started spinning to the west so called it.  Nice day out. iSonic 86, KAR5.2, FF22(18)

Melville

NNW and windy for a change. Got to christen my new 98 Radix finally. 5.8m Apache (yeeehar twice in 2 weeks after a year of no action). 27 weedspeed for safety in the chop.

It was nuking. Was not a speed day at all. Chop was mental at times with the wind shifts making some cross chop. Tide was too high to make any flat water so it was all about sending it and getting used to sailing in proper wind again- getting the adrenaline up when the wild bullets came through. Wind consistently gusting over 30-35 and sometimes more.

Matty Langer made an appearance and did a couple of runs on 5m... he left pretty quick :). I stayed out with Steve and a couple of other guys not wanting to waste it. Paul E (who I'm working to get onto the team because he's fast AF and doesn't yet have a GPS) was sending it on 5.5m.

Kept sailing because I was having waaaay too much fun being powered up on 5.8m, sending it though crazy patches of chop which were small enough to get the speed up until you hit something ugly or a massive bullet takes you from behind sending things upward... adrenaline overload.

Stoked with speeds today given the conditions. If there was 10-15cm less water it would have been melville record day- the wind was punching hard.

Fun sesh down at Boombas today with a big crew. Even Woody decided to turn up and have a crack. A couple of nice runs into Austin Bay where I got my best speeds and a half decent naughty. Plenty of nasty weedburgs around though so had to stay pretty focused.  Took a run out to where Boz mentioned about 3k's out to check out the potential. Good to catch up with everyone.  Save me a jellybean Antman!

Kevin it was the most intense sail I've had in a long time. The tide was a bit over 1m so it wasn't shallow enough to keep the chop down. It was at least knee deep even in the shallowest spots. The dropping pressure as front approached caused an increasing storm surge that cancelled the outgoing tide. Water level stayed pretty much the same. It did dip just a few cm towards the end of the day which made a huge difference to the water state- hence the speeds going up from when I saw you in the carpark. Would have been crazy fast if the tide was 10-15cm less. If the storm surge hadn't increased 25cm over the afternoon it would have been epic. One day the planets will line up Tongue out

Chris, I've beern trying to get Paul E and Alex onto the Southsiders for quite a while without any luck as yet. I guess the WA Speed Team may be more attractive for them!
