Budgewoi, NSW, AU.

FF79, Nuclear 18.5, Duotone Warp 5.8.

First two hours NW 5-15. Lots of walking and very little sailing.

The minute I came in for lunch the wind kicked in, so quickly back out.

Then 2 hours of 5-30. Still some standing around but some genuine solid gusts.

Mobz, Sue, Old Pete, Mitch, Bruce, Mike and Byron as a late arrival.

Patchy 5-28kts plus WNW level 0.3m Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

 5m Mach2 - Rs2 ( 90ltres) - 22cms Atomic

 then Rs1 ( 80ltres) - 16.5cms FF

As usual the forecast wind was only to get to 13kts WNW but we know that with that forecast it generally gets a lot stronger than that!

Seriously not fit enough for today Undecided..I went out early and the wind had more N in it. Not enough sail and the fin was too big and snagging submerged weedbergs. Wasted a lot of energy trying to get high enough to have depth. Couldn't get into the flats.

A few gybe attempts but not enough wind or too much.

Came in for the smaller board as it kicked in.

The gusts were scarily nuclear for my weight. I was in survival mode hanging down low hoping I wouldn't get thrown over the front. A few times going upwind in the worst of it , I just unhooked, rounded up and stopped..

Choppier than last time. I could get into the flats with the FF but didn't score flatwater in the strong stuff.

The 2 sec run felt like 35/6kts but I obviously didn't find flat enough water.

I felt like an accident waiting to happen so came in.

Andrew and Dave went out 1st then me , Pete and someone else.

Later Mitch on his 7m! Surprised ( didn't bring small gear) , Bruce and Mike for 7th who timed it well. Byron went out after I finished  but it looks like he still caught some good stuff .

Nice to get comfortable enough to stay out long enough for Andrew to go home so i commandeer his fangy fin a little longer Laughing
When it first got windy it was not so comfy. Tail walking, sketchy. Lots of changes to the gear and finally it felt sweet.
Dreamy out there, hot desert like wind packing up.

Great sailing Dave! Nice session.

Good  5 x 10 and nm pbs.

I saw you starting a nm and you were looking good until the wind died.

Mm maybe I should adjust my gear more...A good test of the 5m OD.

Thanks Sue and Andrew. As long as I looked fast then that’s good 😊. The 5.0 didn’t falter Sue. Beauty. I just had a heavy front arm so had to live harness lines forward. Mast base forward might have settled it down but that could have been the wind. I nearly pulled the pin earlier feeling like crazy was close too. I was stunned I’d not gone faster too, felt super wild. Great sailing with you all. Super impressed by Byron’s rigging speed. He got there, I was heading out, he’d pretty much caught me by the time I got the the end.
