Early knock off from work, decent conditions, gotta love that.

Fangyland. Not the conditions I was expecting at the start of the day. Enough breeze to get going, but it was unusually warm and had me a bit worried that Huey actually was only going to be half arsed. 

I had to bail a bit earlier than I wanted. I was sure there was another knot or two to be had, but I just couldn't find the right gust in the right bit of water today.

Great day on the water. All the usual derros , neer do wels and missfits having a great time even if Hughie did not deliver in full.

1st mistake, trying out the 48cm speed board to see If I can still sail it at low tide fangys without getting too exhausted.

I took off OK, had a nice run, but then I stopped, and couldn't get planning on the way back. Fin wasn't hitting the bottom, but whole back of the board was under water in the weed. Weed was entangled in all footstraps, just too much drag to pump it onto the plane.

So went in a swapped to the 60cm board, this was much better but the sail felt slow and draggy. Trying to adjust on the water only made it worse.

went in again and added more downhaul with the winch.

This felt much better but by then I was exhausted and it was getting late

Not my best day ever.

Late start didn't hit the water til 1745, only a couple of runs to wash the work off.

Coodanup, WA, AU CA63 M95 Fangy 22/19 TD16 LRB 5.6 Sunny, low to mid low tide moderate to fresh breeze becoming stronger late. I counted 13 sailors on the water. There were holes in my nm runs and I didn't try to gybe. Enjoyed my day, Coods magic, great friends and windsurfing. Who could ask for more?
