Peel Inlet, WA, AU Gusty Pnt Grey. Was hoping for better conditions and something special but too much South and swinging S/E at times made it challenging. Plenty of power in the chop at the start of the run but lost power and gusty in the smoother water. Spent too much time walking in ankle deep water trying to get going in gusty conditions, took the fun away so I gave up early. Got swamped by a 36 ft boat in the channel then no wind left me floating for several minutes before being picked up by a gust and nearly over the bars. Then several tacks up from Liptons corner and I was done. More crew came in with similar stories. Always great company and 🤞 someone got a 40 👍 Much better last week. 74ltr FMX 6.3 R/Blade 22 delta Sym

Big crew out at PG, great sailing with everyone, big congrats to Shroom sailing accross the channel and scoring a PB. even bushing himself off after a catapilt.

Mr Speed Antman well deserved speed of the day, brilliant sailing, more tomororow.

Pt Gray and Liptons

Hit the water at 2:20 after traffic delays on the way down... doh! Decided to try the 111 speed and 6.2m because it looked windy enough. I put the 25 weedspeed in because it was still a bit shallow and the 27 was in the 98 still... was in a hurry to not miss the wind! It was there when I was rigging! Just sailing out from the carpark I hit 40 as I reached the channel hahaha so it was windy then. Felt great aside from being underfinned when it counted. Due to the short gusts you needed to push hard to get the accelleration and I wasted some of the best opportunities spinning out. Oops rookie mistake. After one run my boom fell off- outhaul loops both detached, then the next run after fixing that one of the harness line straps detached from the boom and I went flying.... after mopping up that mess and wasting some prescious time I sailed over to Pt Gray and got 3 of my fastest runs... then the wind backed off.

About an hour later it seemed to come back and I found a nice gust at last- Sailing back upwind I looked down to see my GPS had reset and gone into AP mode... maybe its finally leaked and because I was swimming earlier, it did strange stuff. So I sailed back to the car to use the magnet to try turn it off and on again. When I got there it had reset itself and new session started. Grabbed a drink and swapped to the 98 Radix with the bigger 27 fin, and hit the water... what happened to the wind!?! it switched off. DOH! Sailed another 37km or so on the smaller slalom board and had an absolute blast! Was still hitting 38/39kts in the choppy bits even though the wind was less. Anyway my fastest run was the last just before the GPS died... stoked! It was faster than I thought Laughing

Was great to get some time on the slalom board as well... so much fun. Also way easier with the right sized fin. Good to catch up with the usuals! Been a while!

Hard days work at the Grey side, but well worth it for a couple of full powerd runs in some lucky gusts. Heaps of crew sending it and having a ball :) Powerd by the 5.6.P7,48 Patrick,20 DS.

Had high hopes for today, but it was probably my worst ever Liptons session. Frown

Got down there at 2:40 after a 90 minute commute cos the freeway was congested, and it looked pretty windy.

Rigged the CA53 + 6.3 SCR + 18 Delta, and made my way downwind to Pt Grey, but by the time I got down there the wind was shite.

After my last speed run it took half an hour to get going and it was a PITA going upwind in chop with the Delta (Slowy had a 25 SpeedWeed in the Van for me, but me not getting there in time to collect it meant I was stuck with the Delta).

Props to Antman and Slowy for cracking 40s.  I couldn't even crack a smile.

Very nice Ant.

Looked fast accross the wind Chris, thought you might have been laying down some alphas or going for an hour the way you were crossing the channel.
